Trudging up to the keyboard to type a quick Hello! Have a ton of errands to do today--- need some more caffeine and I'll be good. Talk to you all soon.

Hi All,

Been busy the last couple days. Went to my mom's office party with her last night at a great Italian restaurant. I had Chicken Florentine. It was chicken breast topped with spinach and mozzarella, served with green beans and a couple little new potatoes. It was fabulous. Ate one piece, brought the rest home. Ordered the pumpkin cheesecake for dessert, and thankfully it sucked. Did have 3 cups of fabulous coffee though.

It's rainy and cold and is only supposed to get worse. Yuck. Not looking forward to ice tomorrow possibly. DH took a 1/2 day so he'll be home around 2. He has a dr. appt. first.

Have a great day all!

hey girls...

busy busy here. Finished decorating cookies, got most of my "gifts" packed up (mail carrier, bus driver, etc) and got all my exchange packeages done aswell. Just threw together some spag. sauce & meatballs, hope they will be ready in time for dinner!!!

Just found out DH is getting laid off tomorrow. Construction business is slow this time of year, but with credit all messed up, the economy, etc. it's particularly slow. Oh, well. He hasn't been laid off for about 5 years (and it's common to get laid off in his industry) so we'll deal. Been trying to save, so we'll have to use that. Hopefully he'll get something within a month.

Gotta run, hope everyone has a great night!!

Hi Chicksters,

Busy day on this end too. I was able to get in some xmas baking this morning. Laundry and cleaning this afternoon. I'm finished with christmas shopping except to pick up some gift cards.

Pam ~ sorry to hear about DH. I hope that things pick up come 2009. Thanks for asking about Mike's job. So far, he is fine. He'll find out next week. He seems to think that he'll be ok ~ this time around. It won't be InBev's last lay-off so time will tell. As you say, "we'll deal."

Lauren ~ BTW, you have made me so hungry for a good Italian meal... Chicken Florentine sounds delicious.

Time to go pick up the big kids. My girls are having friends over this afternoon and I look for them to attack my xmas cookies LOL.

Just a quickie!

Pam, I read your post so sorry and I will keep fingers crossed something comes up quickly. I'm sending a big hug your way!

Ranger, good luck on your interview, I'll also keep fingers crossed for you!

I went out and battled the rain today. Stopped in at Roly Poly and had a yummy soup Garlic tomato. Ugh, good thing its quite a drive from my house!

Hey to everyone else. The sun just came out a bit ago and was so nice to see!

Talk later,
Alicia

Pam, sorry to hear about DH's job. My brother is a carpenter and he gets laid off pretty much every year. Usually he has enough side work to keep himself busy, but with the economy, he's slow there too. Thankfully it usually doesn't last long and he's back at work soon enough.
