30 Something's Daily Chat Friday, August 22

Good afternoon - or morning - depending on your location! :dizzy:
I just came back from the local hairdresser who kindly snipped my hair in order again. I'm very happy with the result! I didn't get my hair dyed yet, but should get that done too in a week or so.

Any plans for the weekend?

RLK2005 08-22-2008 08:25 AM

Hey all! I lost 1.6 lb. this week!! YES!! Now the weekend is ahead. Oh and if you read my post last night then here's how I did--not good but stayed w/in calories so I guess it's all good. :) Have a great Friday!

Morning,

all is well here this morning, its sprinkling which is good cause its been really, really dry. I probably won't run outside today cause my sinuses are killing me.

Lauren, DS lost his athletic scholarship when the NCAA deemed him ineligible, and he was already having to take out 16k in loans. Its a pricey school and I told him I would help with food, books, spending cash, etc... but I'm not footing the bill for the school when there are 4 more to come after him. He couldn't afford to take out any extra loans and I wouldn't want him to dig that big of a hole. The school he's at now gave him a good chunk of scholarship $ and he only has to take out 7k in loans.

lois, DD had what they call "compartment syndrome" the covering of the muscle doesn't want to expand when the muscle heats up from activity causing pressure to build up inside that compartment. He also said the nerve in the leg was being pinched by all the pressure, like Carpal Tunnel only in your leg instead of your wrist.

Hopefully everything is going to settle down and I can breathe a little easier. The next DS wants to go to the Air Force Academy in Colorado and run CC when he graduates. So he wants me to start bugging our congressmen for referrals. Sounds like lots of fun. You might want to keep an eye on CNN, you may see me being escorted from a state building.

Mornin' All!

Trish, Wow, that sounds painful for DD. Hope she's not having too much pain now. Sounds like DS made a good choice going to the other college for now.

Rikki, Congrats on the loss!!

Lady, Did you completely change your hairstyle, or just a regular snip? What color are you now and what color are you changing too?

I'm tired today, doesn't really feel like Friday...but I'm glad it is! Have a good one all!

GatorgalstuckinGA 08-22-2008 12:44 PM

afternoon all. Its my day off and i'm glad..didn't sleep well last night. So i'm sort of dragging. I made myself get out of bed at 7.15, took the dog for a nice long hike around the mountain and then went and played with the horse. Its been weird weather...fay sent a bunch of wind our way so it feels like a spring day. I was able to ride my horse at 11.30 without even sweating. It was nice. I have a chiro apt and then a massage apt this afternoon. Was trying to decide if i should drive to a neat little area called 5 points here in atlanta...sort of looking for some retail therapy. Wanted to find something nice for my bday. But not sure if i want to drive 40 min one way and then only have 1.5 hrs to shop before my afternoon apts. I need to decide soon...lol

Trish-man that does sound painful hope dd is doing well.

congrats rlk

hey lady and lauren. Lauren...how's elli doing?

lois lane 08-22-2008 04:59 PM

Afternoon ladies!

Pantsalot, I'll be working this weekend and next :( I always feel so much better when I get a hair cut!

rlk, congrats on your loss!

GG, is your b-day this weekend? If so HB, any special plans?

Okay, speaking of haircuts. Anyone have or notice the new cut. Its kind of like a bob but longer in the front? I've seen it alot and I didn't like it at first but now I think its really cute. I don't think it would work with my hair though.

I colored my hair today back to my natural color and I really don't like it. Spencer told me he liked my hair better orange, lol. Gotta love kids and their honesty!

I was looking back at my profile, anyways, I've gained 16lbs this year. I don't feel like I'm eating more. Def not less, but not more either. Ugh, its so depressing.

Okay hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi All, I new here just turned 30 last weekend! I just feel like a whole new part of my life is opening up. I just a DD 9 months ago and feel comfortable at my job and am happily married. Look forward to getting to know all of you!

I've usually had a polka haircut variation but this time the hairdresser cut it a bit further so that it's almost boyish - but it suits me really! At least I think it does, and it's easy to maintain as I don't like to use much time on my hair in the mornings.
I've dyed my hair for -hmmm- about 16 years as my own colour is "road-light-brown". Don't like it one bit. Usually I dye with all kinds of reds but my hairdresser prefers to do stripes with three colours which is all right; light red, brownish and blondish for highlights :) I'm planning to let her do it again next time. The reds from the shop shelves fade too easily.

So busy today! Picking up last-minute things like bridesmaid gifts, groomsmen gifts, veil, garter, thank goodness Monster in Law was there to help me and keep me focussed. I haven't had a chance to exercise since the Man came home, my own fault, I could get up earlier.
Up a pound at WW. They say I'm not eating enough. Bullcrap. I don't know. 10 pm, and tired. Maybe lie down for half an hour, then try to do some sewing.
The Man is at his Stag party tonight. I drove him there, but wasn't allowed to look in. I peeked, and saw card tables and men playing cards. They have 16 doz beer and a bunch of Screech (Newfie rum.) He'll be sick as a dog tomorrow. Ah, the joys of life.

Slow on the boards today, but it was Friday.

DD is doing very well, I am a **** when it comes to the PT exercises. She'll be ship shape soon I'm sure. Kids are such mamby pambys these days anybody notice that??? I once played an entire basketball game with a broken wrist which I received after only 4 minutes in the first quarter. I didn't want to be taken out as I was doing well, we went into 3 ot's before all was said and done then I told the coach I needed ice. He took one look at my wrist and freaked out and took me to the ER then called my parents (non-supportive ones, they were). There is no way my kids would have done that. They would have laid on the floor rolling around moaning until someone hauled them off. The chick that pushed me down and gave me that fracture, she got a bloody nose on the next rebound, don't know how that happened......... Miss those days oh so long ago.

I'm rambling, I need to go back and watch my Olympics, I'm OUTTA here!

Up late today.

I sell beaded bags at a local farmer's market every thursday. They offer free beer and magaritas to all vendors. Umm yeah I had one of each and a veggie burger!!
I did go for my 3 mile walk in the morning, took a bike ride in the afternoon and walked some more with my kids in the park.Hopefully I will post a lost next week. I gained this week! :(

CCMOM--I laughed out loud at your basketball story!
