Default new to 3fc.

Hi all. My name is (as suggested by my login) Lori and I live here in the great state of NY, no, not the city, I live in the beautiful region of the fingerlakes! Such beautiful country. Though, I have to admit, this time of year it's pretty from INSIDE! That cold gets bitter! hahaha.

A bit about me. a year ago (just before thanksgiving) I had started Southbeach. I joined a site for the discussions on "Southbeach for beginners." but my busy life took me away from the forums. I had lost 18 pounds, going from 197 to 179. But when I stopped going to the forums I also stopped making my menu plans. I'm sad to say as of a few days ago I was back up to 188 . This am I am back down to 186, which was encouraging a little.

I started curves on Friday, 11-30-07. Believe me, paying money I'm holding myself accountable to lose the weight! But I thought i'd come in here to get ideas and encouragement. I hope to get to know you all and to possibly be welcomed in here.

i KNOW one of my problems with eating, is I get BORED. So, I'm going to attempt one new recipe a week! Last week I tried two, too many as my 18 yr old college student is gone most nights sleeping in the dorms (his friends). Just me one dish should suffice, if it's big like the stews I made last week!

Well, I guess thats all and I'm looking forward to venturing into the other places, like food, exercise, do those threads exist? Let me see!

Welcome and good luck. You know diet and exercise together will give you a more successful loss. I am sure you know that it is important to plan ahead. I know in my own case it was not planning that was the source of my weight gain. It gets a little tedious planning every bite but it is so worth it.

Thanks Bargoo, and yes! As it was/is in my case! When I'm not planning I easily tell myself "one piece of pizza won't hurt." and that one turns to four! hahaha.... I recently started a new job, and my oh my, their eating habits are horid! What's sad though is they are NOT fat, though I'd HATE to know their cholesterol levels! But then, they are in their twenties... I keep warning them it will creep in on them! They eat likke three and four donuts at once setting! We have staff meetings virtually every morning, and every other morning they bring donuts. I thank God I am not one for donuts or I'd of gained more than five pounds in one week!!!!!!
