Default 30 Somethings Chat: Tuesday, Nov. 13th

Morning all...i guess i'll start off the chat. Nothing really excting...just another day at work. Hope everyone is doing well.

I need to get my butt motivated again. I've been ok about eating...but with this cold weather I've been procrastinating about exercise. Part of me has been thinking about joining a gym..but part of me wonders if i would waste money and end up not going. I'm working over at a different banfield tomorrow..its closer to my house and the gym I was thinking about is right near it...so i may go check it out and see if it has what I want. We'll see.

Hannah - yes, gp is still hanging in there. My parents actaullly felt guilty since originally gp wasn't suppose to live thr aug and they had scheduled a fall cruise up the east coast. They decided to go on it anyways. My aunt and uncle are staying with gp. I think my parents are saints they way they have taken care of my grandparents...and i think you have done an awesome job with sean..many ppl couldn't do what you have done

hey to everyone else. Michelle, btw...are you sure you were just clutzy...you didn't black out or anyting before falling. Hope not

alright..going to run..bye all

wow where is everyone today?

Good Morning!

GG I do think your parents are saints, but I think that means much more than that, it means they had great parents and they are doing the right thing, they don't even have to question it, it is the way they feel, the way they were taught, what a great family you have! (didn't mean to get all philosophic here LOL, I mean it from my heart)

Alicia No coffee pot what is wrong with you! Yes I did throw away Michael's favorite t-shirt loooonnnggg time ago, although he still thinks it was yesterday! LOL. I am happy for you to be able to spend time w/DH over the weekend, is he going to come w/you guys if you go anywhere for Thanks Giving? I wouldn't want to be away from DD either, I am sure you are going to work things out. Can your FL aunt come to you guys instead? do you want to have TG at your house?

Well today I am not too motivated either, Michael is still not feeling well, so he is staying home one more day! Yippee!!! I am going to take it easy, my body is really hurting, I think a big part of it is the mental stress, last night even the covers on the bed were bothering me.
Have a great day everyone! I am going to sit down w/DH on the couch and knit for the rest of the day LOL.
I will see you guys later,

Hugs,

Hanna

Hi All,

Great news!! I called my midwife's office this AM, to ask what the dates and weights of my last couple visits were, just to be sure I had the numbers right. Turns out I was wrong! OK, so I started out higher, which isn't necessarily a good thing, but it means I've actually lost more! Gosh, that sounds soo lame, but it makes me happy! So I'm actually down 13.6.

Hanna, DH wants to make beer-can turkey in the smoker. I'm not soo sure yet. He's made beer-can chicken which is absolutely to die for though! If my brother comes, they'll be making the mashies, if not, I'll be doing most of the cooking. My aunt will bring homemade applesauce and pumpkin muffins, and probably a pineapple. It's a long standing joke that the only good pineapples come from her. My mom isn't up to making anything, but she'll probably pay for the turkey, if we haven't spent enough to get a free one. MIL will offer to bring something, I'll probably tell her to bring a veggie or something.

Miss Patricia...it's TUESDAY, not Thursday!! Geez, I had to double check when I saw the thread title! All fixed now...don't rush us!! Your parents deserve a break! My aunt and uncle really got to see how much stress my mom was under caring for my grandparents over the past month or so.

What a great group of girls you are... I was just reading your posts from this morning and thinking how fortunate I am to have gotten to know you. It's funny as I come from a very loving family as well as having some good friends and yet I feel so comfortable expressing myself here.

Hanna ~ YES YOU ARE GOING TO HEAVEN!! You have so much on your plate and yet you are the first to always come forward with kind, encouraging words for others.

GG ~ are you working for Thanksgiving or will the place be closed? BTW, did I tell you that DD wants to be a vet? She is the one taking riding lessons.

Lauren ~ 13.6 lbs! That is GREAT! You should feel happy and proud of yourself. Keep it up.

I haven't gotten on the scale since last Monday ~ I'm scared to! I've been eating more sweets again and didn't exercise as much as I should have over the weekend. I was so tired last night and did something that I never do.... I ate two cookies and drank a rootbeer around 9:00 p.m. I rarely watch television in the evening because I used to always snack while watching t.v. Can't remember the last time that I ate anything after dinner. Plus, I hardly ever drink soda. Used to drink 2 or 3 a day and, thankfully, I kicked that habit too. So, I have no idea why I sat down to watch t.v. last night and ate???? It didn't even taste that good! The nice thing is that it'll be a long time again before I do it again. I'll stick to my 1/2 show on Thursday night (The Office) and leave it at that!

Hug to everyone ~ Joan

Good Morning everyone

So I was up and at the club by 4:50 a.m. today. That 4 min workout i love it. My girlfriend is doing it with me and she lost 8 inches in one week. I am not getting checked after 1 week just because I want to see more results that one or two. I can already tell in my stomach.

MO:You look GReat!!!!

Hannah: Hey

Loislane:Hey lady.

Hi to everyone else it has been one of those days already.

Michelle that looks like it hurts like **** You know I could give you a little advise on using objects like that. lol.

lauren - lol at me...god sorry about that typo...i guess i don't even know what day it is anymore...they all seem to blend LMAO. Tues, thursday...**** its all the same for me...just another day at work LMAO. and btw...congrats on your even more weight loss...wohoooo!!!!!!

hannah - you are right...it does mean they have great parents...just like i have awesome parents...hope you feel better soon. Take it easy

joan - we only close for thanksgiving and christmas. So i'll be off turkey day, we're probably going to FIL house in agusta (about 2.5 hrs away) since it can be a day trip. I don't even really get time off at Christmas...i do have the weekend before but i work the monday before and wed after. I'm going to see if my family wants to come up and do christmas the weekend ..and they can just keep themselves occupied on monday (dad's been dying to go to the aquarium here). So we'll see what the holidays hold. As for DD being a vet...good for her...tell her keep up the good grades...thats a big component. I love what I do...but some days i wonder if i should have chosen a different route. Sometimes its hard to practice medicine when owners don't want to do anything and blame you for not fixing things. Sometimes i do wonder if i should walk away...but then i remember 2 things..my passion for vet med and the large amount of student loans i still owe LMAO
sheila - good luck on this new plan you are on. I don't think i could get motivated to get up at 4.50 to work out for 4 min LMAO

well this morning i have caught up to everything at work and got a lunch break so i was able to come here and say hi to all. And i second joan- its great to have met such a supportive bunch. My family and dh are great and supportive too...its just different here. I guess its sort of like my gf's (and guy friends) that i get to chat to and tell whatever too. Alright...going to run. Bye all

Hi Ho and a bottle of.....VAULT! Yeehaw!

Lauren: My little sunshiney flower filled with healthy sunflower seeds bursting to be pulled out.... WONDERFUL NEWS you tiney hiney you! Rock ON with your bad self!

Sheila: Four minute work out? Where the heck do I sign up for something like that? I need to go back and read read read...I'm so confused. Thanks for the compliment. I could grow a big wart on my lip and be covered in green mold and you'd still say ya loved me!

GG: Hey there Shuga Smack! There...that's your warning! Get back on track! Now...I need a smack too 'cause I'm eating like a moran and not drinking water like I should either. My thighs are swimming in blubber as a result!

Joan: You are such a sweetie pie motivator! Don't be so hard on yourself about the late night tryst with the 2 cookies baby. It's ok...and it's not something you're doing every day.

Hanners: Ok, I know you better than that...have you really sat down and enjoyed relaxation this afternoon? Tell the truth...you PLANNED on chilling and knitting....but are you? Hmmmm.....??? Hey, how are you feeling anyway-no more complications or anything right?

Ok, this was just a fly-by of sorts. Nothing new to report on my end as I'm not being faithful to any kind of diet or work out plan lately. That solid 5 hours in the yard really made up for a lot...but that's not good enough! I need to get my head out of my arse. After all....I can't live my dream as an exotic porn model with cheese thighs now can I? LOL

Hugs & Shuga Smacks, MO

Mo ~ you are nut! A beautiful, yummy one that's been dipped in nougat and smothered with chocolate:-). Your posts crack me up.

Sheila ~ give us the low-down. 4 minute work out per hour or per day? Did you hear about this from your chiropractor or from the recently skinny mom that you're acquainted with? Sounds like a sweet deal. Are you still doing WW too?

Michelle ~ what gives? Were you toasted? Keep us posted. Hey, that rhymes!

Time to get my little sweetie-pie to her gymnastics class. Later Gators ~ Joan

Joan I don't know why but some people just do that sit by the TV and eat, isn't it funny, my husband ALWAYS has something in his mouth when he is watching TV (OK that sounded too funny!) and a lot of times he eats lets just say potato chips, eats the whole bag and looks at me and says "but that is not what I wanted" that didn't do it, and he goes and grabs a thing of icecream out of the frezeer this is a pretty regular thing he does, I don't know if it always potato chips but it almost always it follows by icecream. I don't have to have a snack when I am watching TV, almost always I am doing something with my hands when I am sitting down, like knitting, or bogging the little dudes w/the hair brush.

Lauren we never had beer-can anything, I would love to try it, do you have a good recipe?? can you share? I personally don't like turkey but I eat a little when Michael BBQ's it and only the dark meat, now when I eat chicken I only eat the white meat. Sounds like you are going to have some help, that is very nice! I am sure it is going to be wonderful!

Melinda my dear chocolate fudge a la mode pie, what is this business of yours of not drinking water??? I don't know about those cheese legs, LOL

Sheila you got to share the secret 4 minute work out!!!

Have you ever read the little things kids say about how they would cook a turkey for Thanks Giving, thye can be so funny!
I found some online: they will make you laugh

http://teachers.net/gazette/DEC02/krecipes.html

Well you are right Melinda, so much for me relaxing, sitting on the couch knitting, Susie knocked on my door and off we went to have breakfast for her birthday, I did pretty good w/the food, drank a few I can't believe I did, it was not that good, oh well. Know I have to run to the knitting shop, I forgot to get another pair of needles, I have to have them to be able to continue with this sweater, it is taking me for every to knit, I have been working on the same thing for about 3 weeks, that is too long for me, it sux! I almost put it down but I can't as I know if I do it will never get done.

see you all later,

Hanna

Sheila, what club are you going to for a 4 min workout?

Lauren, have you been weighing yourself all along or did you surprise yourself one day?

Hanna, I don't think I would do anything for Tgiving here, I live in the middle of nowhere and it would take everyone too long to get to my house. I think there was some confusion about DD going with my cousin. I think my Aunt wanted her to more than my cousin. (She doesn't want my cousin driving alone). Now I have to break it to DD she's not going with her. I am really not good with making plans.

Joan, did you tell us what movie you and your friend decided on?

GG, the Banfield here is closed every Sun and Wed. However, I don't think the vet takes off any other day. I think there is just one because I always see the same one.

It is very comforting to know I can come here and share. You are all so great.

I need to start packing and I am just so unorganized I don't know where to begin. It would be nice if at least one of us were organized, but nope. After I get the kids off the bus I am going to have to start somewhere. Wish me luck.

Talk later, Alicia

OK gals here it is

www.Newimagenutrition.net

Now these are all over the world. But I will tell you what it is like nothing I have ever been on ever.

I am used to working the stairstepper for 45 min. This machine you work the lower half one day the upper half the next but holy **** I am using muscles I didn't know I had.
We also get an aloevera shot {liquid} It helps cleanse your body on the inside each day. Now last friday I went to work out and the flu is going around big time. I had some and believe it girls I didn't get sick. I know my body so well that it is just not funny, I should have been puking. I have my morning shake that they make me then I fix one at lunch for me. Believe me I am not hungry. Shakes always have made me hungry not these babies. Then at night I eat what ever I want. I can't begin to tell you how much better I am feeling. Julia Roberts does this Tom Cruise {like that matters} Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tony Robbins. My surgeon says he hasn't seen anything like it. I googled it before I started Rom Equipment and you just need to read about it. Amazing results. I am doing the shakes until the end of the year. Then I will only do a lunch shake. It is a way to jump start your weight loss and learn to eat right.

Your question about still doing WW. Kind of I am still buying low fat/fat free items for dinner. I am cooking way more which I love to do but the flavor of the food even tastes better and I am not over indulging. Kansas city has a bunch of these places they are all over.

Alicia, I hadn't weighed myself in a few months, because I needed to replace the battery in my scale. Then I replaced the battery and it still didn't work. Finally I replaced the "other" batteries (I don't know why there's a 9 volt AND 2 little flat ones?!) Anyway, I had been to the midwife in June, August, and October for BP checks, since I'm on the pill. So I had those weights, and I've been weighing almost everyday since my scale is working again. I have never made it a habit to weigh everday, I was always good at the once a week thing, especially when I did WW, so I don't know why I'm doing it now...but it sure is good motivation, especially since it's either the same, or less each time!

Hanna, some of those are hilarious!! I'll ask DH for the beer-can chicken recipe.

MO, I just love your posts...you nut!

Sheila, Nice to see you! Do tell what's new.

Hanna, here's DH's recipe...direct cut & paste...

From my Barbecue Bible at home. I'm sure you can find a recipe online somewhere. It's basically wash the chicken and cut off the parts you don't want, get a rub (the book supplies a Memphis rub) and rub the chicken down (you can even go under the skin which adds more flavor to the meat) crack open a beer, pour out 1/3 (or drink it) of the beer and ram it up the bird's butt. Slow cook for about 1 1/2 - 2 hours using indirect heating method on the barbecue, checking ever 1/2 hour or so.

If you want the rub recipe, let me know and I'll copy it down and post it.
