Default Meal question and maybe recipe help please :)

Hi all,

I love fish. I was wondering which type of fish is the healthiest to get. I usually go for salmon. Is that good???

I just add a little bit of soy sauce, pepper, housen sauce to the salmon piece and set it to marinate, and then just put it in a pan with 4-5 drops of olive oil. I cook it on both sides till its done. Am I adding too much fat??? should I not use oil since salmon probably has enough fat??

another thing is that i bought low sodium chicken broth and veggie broth. But I have no idea what to do with it. I know they can be used for stew-- but how?? any healthy recipe??

thanks!

salmon is one of the healthiest fish to eat. The fat is fine, it's good healthy fats, which most plans recommend having them in your diet. If you are counting calories, just measure and count it in.

you can use a little broth when stir frying veggies to cut down on the oil or replace some of the water when making rice to add flavor or make soups.

Sockeye Salmon is the best for you. If you cannot get the Sockeye, at least try to get Wild caught of some type. There is nothing wrong with a few drops of olive oil. It will add to your healthy fats for the day--just don't overdo it.

I am a fish lover too--had salmon tonight on a bed of cilantro, green onions and soy sauce. Super yum!

I am a seafood and fish lover. I could eat it everyday, 3 times a day, if it was not so expensive.

I like to bake fish in the oven. I add my favourite herbs and spices (no salt) and a slice of lemon and wrap it in foil.

It comes out perfect everytime.

If you are going to eat fish, I would advise to consult a guide on which fish to eat and wish fish to avoid based on environmental factors and health safety factors:
http://www.montereybayaquarium.org/c...endations.aspx

For example, for Salmon, the guide says to avoid Farmed salmon, Atlantic Salmon and Sake. It'll also give you reasons behind their recommendations.

Best choices would be alaska wild-caught coho, sockeye, king, pink, red and sake (alaska).
