I've looked at recipe thread above and great stuff. I just bought the cookbook and would be interested in what recipes people have tried from it and liked--like even if you could mention the page number....what things freeze well, don't freeze well, etc.
Great dinner tonight. ..page 78 "fried chicken" (I used garlic roasted melba toast) and 4 oz. cooked mushrooms (1 minute in microwave)...covered the chicken with mushrooms. YUM!

Turkey lasagna on page 126 (I think)...LOVE it! So does my son Also the broccoli beef was pretty good.
Just made the crab cakes last night and used a little of the MRC mayo on the side as a tarter sauce (didn't even use a tsp). It was really good.
I made the Bread Pudding, page 187. It's very good, and the serving size
(1/4) is big. Had it for breakfast along with another egg and was totally full.
I ate the turkey lasagna for dinner instead of lunch--on green menu---did I goof?
I did that the first time too...I don't think we are supposed to have cheese for dinner so I started using mine for lunch. Come to think of it, I have 2 pieces in the freezer that I can pull out for lunch this week!
Okay, I'm confused. The lasagna calls for tomato. Then it cooks them for 15 minutes. I thought we couldn't have cooked tomato? I was doing that with my chilli until someone told me it changes the glycemic index of them.

It's the tomato basil supplement (at least on page 104) and that's okay.

Not the one on page 126...it calls for diced tomatoes...I have seen this in a couple other recipies as well...I don't use them cooked unless they call for it in the cookbook.
I've tried to make my own MRC Chili here's the final outcome:
1 lb ground lean turkey
1 cup green onions (chopped finely or put through the food processor)
Chili powder
Walden Farms Ketchup
Walden Farms BBQ sauce
The first 2 ingredients were the only things measured. The ketchup and bbq sauce are simply added to your taste. You could throw in some diced tomatoes, and some other legal spices. It was good on some of the lo-cal bread toasted. Actually I shouldn't call it chili, it was more like a manwich consistency. It's hard to be creative with the same foods day after day.....
