Favorite Recipe
I was just browsing around the site at the recipes listed and I was wondering... What are some of your(anyone) favorite LA recipes. Either one you made up yourself or from the site or from the cookbooks? Just curious and always looking for xomething different. For me my favoite is either stuffed peppers or stuffed zuchinnii. I also like to put low sodium sauce on my veges, cauliflower or zuchinni. Then I put either an ounce or half ounce of lf mozzerella cheese on top and melt it. Sometimes I brown some ground beef and throw that in with it. Thought it would be interesting to find out anyone else's fav recipe.

how do you count soups on the plan? I am on the gold plan. Does pasta in soup count for a starch??

I usually do not put the pasta in, so I don't have to use a starch.....here is what Pearl said:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, you need two cups so go for as close to 16 oz as you can get.
I'd put this at
1P, 2V, 1S - I agree with Cassi on that!

Prawn curry
For all the curry lovers like me...
Serving size : 3
Each serving : 1 P, 1/2 V
Ingredients:
Medium prawns, raw : 48-50.
Onion - 1 small, paste
Tomato - 1 medium, blanched and pureed
ginger - 1 tsp, grated
1% milk - 1/4 cup
cloves- 2
green cardamom - 2
bay leaf - 1
cinnamon stick - 1/2 inch
cumin powder- 1/2 tsp
coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
lite salt - 1/2 tsp
paprika - 1/2 tsp
hot chili sauce or sambal olek - 1 tsp
splenda - 1/2 tbsp
cilantro( optional)- 1 tsp
tumeric - 1 tsp
non fat spray
water - 1/4 cup
Marinate the shrimp in 1/4 tsp salt and 1/2 tumeric for 10 mins. Heat a non-stick pan coated with non-fat spray and fry the shrimp in batches for 1 1/2 mins each batch turning sides.
Set the shrimp aside. Spray the same pan and add the bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon and cardamom and leave for a minute. Add the onion paste and let it brown, then add the ginger. After 1 minute add the tomato paste. Add the powder spices, tumeric, paprika and let it cook for few minutes on medium heat.Add the milk and water and let it bubble.Add the remaining salt, splenda and hot sauce or olek. Add the shrimp and blend it well and turn off the heat. Garnish with cilantro.

The beef fajitas are good and My family (including three preschoolers) like the cheesy beef and broccoli. The sesame beef is good but I have not done t with beef as chicken is a whole lot cheeper. Hope that helps.
