Hey Chickadees!
I haven't started a thread of my own in a while, so I figured I was about due. Last night really tested my strength, my father's 65th birthday is Monday but we celebrated it a few days early. They ordered my favorite pizza (
) and a chocolate whipped cream cake that actually looked really delish. To be completely honest, I thought it would be a LOT harder to resist considering all the food was in front of me for the majority of the night. My boyfriend & I went out for a late lunch (grilled chicken and a salad) with an old friend from high school and that really held me over through the pizza fiasco! I wasn't STARVING, so I didn't reach for even
one slice of pizza! We washed the dishes all throughout the meal so it kept our hands busy and I had a cup of decaf tea instead of coffee&cake. Everyone complained the cake was too dry and pretty much sucked, so I'm glad we didn't bother wasting calories and carbs on a gross dessert
There's pizza still in the fridge, half a pie was left over from their dinner. I've been up since 8 this morning, and instead of reaching for a cold piece of pizza for breakfast I had a cup of tea and whole grain toast with mom while we talked for a while. I cleaned up the rest of the kitchen for her since my dad put some of the dirty dishes with the already CLEAN dishes in the dishwasher, so there were loads to wash this morning. I feel really energized, even though I have my periodical (
) and I haven't made a significant drop in weight this week. I'm finally realizing it's not all about the numbers, it's about the food I put into my body to FUEL it, to keep me healthy and strong. Now it's time to hit the gym
I do want to take a minute and let you all know how much I really appreciate your posts and replies. 3FC is what keeps me on track and every single one of you inspire me to keep going forward with my journey. I know this time will be different than the rest, my mindset is completely different. I'm not aiming for a "perfect weight", but a healthy and happy lifestyle. Thank you chickies!
