Default Self talk, something we already do/need to do/or need to do more of.

This is something that often comes up here, so I thought I'd post it.

Thanks for sharing. That had some points that hit home, especially:

That's a wonderful article. It said a lot that I think is important for me to keep in mind. I know I'm my own worst critic. Nobody has ever put me down the way I do myself. Even as I crack the discipline whip to watch what I eat and push myself to work out, its really important to remember to pat myself on the back too when I'm doing a good job and encourage myself (something i NEVER do).

I definitely agree with the superior effectiveness of loving yourself thin over hating yourself thin. And I also use the criteria of whether I would talk that way to someone I love, especially a young person. That's an approach I try to suggest when I see posts built on hating oneself thin.

You should see the others! I love cats and adore shoes, so I was tickled when I ran across a series of kittens in shoes and purses photos by Keith Kimberlin. Do a Google image search on "shoehandbagcats" for some scrumptious cuteness. (I'd post the link, but my newbie status will not allow.)
