Default Birthday party torture

My daughter's second birthday party was yesterday. I still have a bunch of candy and snacks leftover from decorating her cake. I've been munching uncontrollably all day. I feel sick. I've decided that I'm going to go upstairs right now and bag it all up and take it to work or pitch it. I hate wasting food, but I can't look at it any longer. I don't want my family eating it, either.

Get rid of it! You'll be glad you did! We had people over for dinner tonight and they brought key lime pie....I had one bite from my son's plate and it was so good I almost went in to a swoon. So when the guests left, I explained that I was on a diet and that my husband doesn't care for sweets, so would they like to take it home. And that was that. The pie is gone and I didn't eat it.

The leftover cake that I served went into the trash. I try to remind myself that it is equally wasted on my hips.

yup, chuck it out - and if you don't want your family eating stuff like that, don't get it in for her 3rd birthday!

candy is not food. It has no relevant food value. It is shaped, emusified, polymerized sugar. Do you realize that cockroaches are made of sugar also?

Women, we are not garbage cans! "Saving" food by eating it instead of throwing it out makes no sense whatsoever. If it were candied grasshoppers, you would probably have no problem... I hope you tossed it all.

I wholeheartedly agree. It's better to "waste it" than to "waist it". A couple weeks ago, I bought three yummy frozen pizzas so that I could use the UPC codes from the box to get free tickets to a festival. We went to the festival and had a great time. The next day, I had no self-control and ate an entire pizza myself...after that, I realized that I couldn't keep the pizza around or I'd do the same thing, so I chucked the remaining pizzas. They served their purpose...getting me free tickets to the festival. So off they went...all that temptation, right in the trash. I also cleaned out my desk drawers at work...giving all my junk food to my co-workers, who gladly accepted it.

Yeap I agree! chuck that junk out. It's hard to do but once you toss it, it's the most amazing feeling

All gone. I'm glad that our guests ate most of the cupcakes and ice cream. Those are harder for me to resist than the candy. I'm so happy to be eating my steel cut oats for breakfast and being back on plan.

I'm proud of myself because this sort of thing used to be a big setback for me. I would have a hard time finding my way back on plan. It's getting easier to get back to it after a day or a meal of eating off plan. Even when I go over my calories it's not really that much over (once I'm brave enough to add it all up).

Thanks!!!
