Default I will be among the 5% that keeps it off because:

How do you finish that sentence?
I've been lost the weight before, and kept if off for different amounts of time. I am realistic enough that I put the fat pants in the top of the closet; I didn't throw them away.
But I really hope this time will be for good. What's different this time is that I discovered, at 150, that I only got to eat about 200 calories more a day, to maintain that weight, than I would get to maintain at 102! Also, I learned here, that to maintain, and not gain, I can only add 200 or so calories a day to what I am eating now. And, finally, I am in my mid-forties now. In five or six years, come menopause, things will get a whole lot harder, if I'm not already in shape.
What about you?

...because:
  • I LOVE healthy foods
  • I am working out
  • I've cut out my trigger foods (sugar and white carbs)

I want to be a positive role model for my children.

I don't want to develop diabetes like my mother, uncle, and grandparents.

there is no food tastes better than being thin will feel.

Because I'm not doing anything extreme. Even though this is the slow way, I don't see anything about my process that I can't keep doing for the next 30 years.

I feel so much better about myself when I am thinner and healthier. And because like some of the others stated, this is definitely an eating/exercise lifestyle I can live with forever. Can't believe I didn't do this sooner!

I am getting rid of ALL of my fat clothes. The 12's are gone, the 10's are gone and I have reached a point where I can even let go of some of the very few size 8's I had that just started to fit me again. I don't need or want even one memento. I just want to leave that miserable person with her clothes behind and never look back! Some people keep them just in case or for a reminder but I prefer to shape up and ship out, lol. NOTHING to fall back on, no room for uh-oh moments.

I have changed my lifestyle to accommodate my plan. As my journey continues, I will hold myself accountable. There is no option for a return trip on this journey.

Because everything I'm doing is sustainable and enjoyable and will carry me for the next 50 years.

Because for the first time I'm losing weight on purpose and not due to stress or grief.

Because I have discovered that I love hour long yoga sessions, biking in the rain, hiking by myself, and not stuffing myself.

Because I have learned how to sit with my uncomfortable feelings and not eat them.

Because if I regain it, I have to go naked! I just finished getting rid of anything that is too big and can't be altered. And I'm doing alterations on one piece a day.

I figure if I can't afford to go buy a whole new wardrobe because I lost weight (fortunately I have a lot of "skinny" clothes that I hung onto), I sure can't afford to buy new ones as a reward for gaining the weight back!

...because I have made changes to my life that I LOVE, and that I not only choose to keep up for the rest of my life, but that I WANT to.

...because when I don't follow my healthy habits, I don't feel good...tired, nauseous, and grouchy!

...because I have 3FC and the Living Maintenance board to keep me honest!

...because I learned that all-or-none thinking = defeat and work everyday to do it 'good-enough'.

Great question!

..because I have 3FC.
