Default sweet potato!

how do you guys dress up yr sweet potato? i usually treat it like a baked potato and add salt, pepper, lite sour scream, and spray butter. a few weeks ago i went to firebirds (a restaurant) and they had the most amazing cinnamon butter on theirs (i had that on the side).

so, i'm eating one for lunch and want to spice it up a bit!

I bake or microwave sweet potatoes and add a sprinkle of cinnamon and/or nutmeg.

I nuke my sweet potatoe in the microwave, after poking it with a fork, when done I slice it open and add 1 Tablespoon of peanut butter! Yup, it is ooey, gooey melted warm goodness!

I love them plain. I bake them in the oven for over an hour (depending on the size of the sweet potato) so the sugar in the skin caramelizes. They are just naturally sweet and wonderful to me.

I've made these sweet potato/yam fries several times and we love it.

Glory, at what temperature do you bake it at?

Last weekend we did a BBQ and I sneaked in a sweet potato, it's true I didn't need anything on it and it was delicious.

baking in the oven compared to the microwave makes such a difference. i love the peeling after it's been cooked in the oven. but it does take much longer. i usually bake mine for an hour at 350 F.

I add cinnamon and a little butter spray, maybe a tiny dollop of low fat sour cream.

There is a Bobby Flay recipe somewhere that bakes the slices in cream and chipotle peppers (the ones en adobo with the sauce). The contrast of sweet and spicy is great. The healthy version I have tried is to top the baked sweet 'tater with yogurt or sour cream (no,low or whatever fat content works for you) that has been pre mixed with some of the chipotle.

I mix cumin and chopped chipotles in adobo into soy yogurt for my sweet potato. I also make fries seasoned with cumin, chipotle powder, and garlic, then bake them.
