Morning everyone!

I am proud to say I am hurting!! I did the shred and it works!! AHH!! I was told the first few days are killer, but to keep it up! It's funny, as I was going through it, although it as tough to keep going with no breaks, the exercises were very simple, yet EFFECTIVE!

Well, off to eatsome breakfast, get some sun, and take on day 2!!

Good morning.Hope everyone is doing well.I have been away for a while.Alotr of emotional stuff going on.It has been tough staying OP with the kids being on Summer break.I have gained 3 pounds and I feel like my stomach is constantly bloated from eating all theses random starches.Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of sugar cravings?I think you can use B-6 or B-12 but I can't remember.I am going to try and get OP today so wish me luck. One step at a time is what I am thinking. On a good note I have been exercising at least 3 times a week varying it between yoga and cardio.I want to start adding some weight lifting in soon to try and tone things up.

Hey gang..

busy weekend.. Had some "me time" and took a huge hike with an old friend. While the hike itself was only about 9 miles, it was up the La Luz Trail on the west face of Sandia Peak mountain. Started at about 6500 ft. and ended at 10,000+.

For all the years I've live in ABQ, I'd never tried it.. We certainly didn't break any records as my friend Dave needed to stop every so often to let his pulse slow down, but it was a great time and left me with a big sense of accomplishment.

Yesterday I made low fat, low cal English muffins and they turned out pretty well.. I will post the recipe in the recipe files...

Hi friends. I am back from camping and I lived to tell about it. I have a love/hate relationship with camping. It rained every day, but not the whole day or night, so it was manageable. One thing I did that was AWESOME was float down the Huzzah and Meremac Rivers on a tube. It was really fun. One run was 4 miles, and one was 1 mile. What fun. Anyway, I am back OP tomorrow. I have had a lurking fear of heart disease lately that is making me want to get healthy, even more that having my clothes fit better.......so I am going to try again.

I hope you all had a good weekend, and I say, lets have a kick a$$ WL week
XOXO

Hey guys.

I have yet to exercise today. I am still hurting from the Shred yesterday and am dreading doing it again today. UGH.

Now of course I am hungry as I let time get away from me looking up stuff for school, and will try not to binge for lunch. Good thing is there isn't anything "bad" in the house to binge on!

I was going to grill cheddarwurst for dinner tonight, but decided I am having chicken sausage. Something like 100 calories less, and 20g of fat less. Between that and baked doritoes, I will be saving some workout time!!!

Happy Monday everyone!!!

Katie - Emily LOVES being a big sister! She even hates when I take the baby to daycare even though Emily's preschool is in the same building. She always says that she loves her baby Sarah soooooo much :-)

Nicole - I'm with you on trying to lose weight now more for the healthy part of it than the fitting in my clothes part.

Amy - I'll have to look for that workout. It sounds great!

Dan - Great job on the hike! That sounds like a lot of fun!

Lori - I don't know about getting rid of sugar cravings, but I'm curious! It is so hard to stay OP when I'm at home with the kids, too.

Okay...back to work. Have a good one!

Good Monday to you all!!! I am loosing slowly but surely but it is very frustrating sometimes. I know loosing slow is the best way and let me be clear I am happy I am loosing instead of gaining. I just wantes to say it well type it. I have not been exercising as much as I was an not getting in all my water but I am going to do that this week. I went for a walk/jog yesterday so thats one day down. Anyway wish loosing was as easy as gaining...

Amy- great job on the 30 day shred I still have not bought it but I have done Jillians other DVD's and yes I can imagine crying too

Nicole- more power to you for camping with any rain. I am not an outdoor girl at all..

Tina- I love your little girls picture. That is great that your older child is excited about your new baby.

Lori- I read that drinking plenty of water and trying to distract yoruself is the easiest thing to do to help with the sugar cravings. Scientist believe a craving last only 5 minutes so if you distract yourself you will forget about it?? Who knows.

DAn- wow that some hike!!!

Amy M, don't be so hard on yourself! You have lost 37 lbs since what? March? So I'm guessing you are averaging just under 10 lbs a month which is incredible! At my fastest I think I lost 6-7 lbs a month and could not keep that pace more than a few months so please be thrilled with your progress!

I am ready to lose some weight now after losing the smokes...I think...lol
I have about 5 months before I really gotta start the wedding dress shopping and I want to lose 40 lbs before that...soooo whether I can pull it off or not that is what I am hoping for!

Amy- You are doing fabulous with your exercising. You seem to be so on track. I think that is so awesome!

Lori- I ate healthy all weekend but felt really bloated. I did have a few wine spritzers so I think they were the culprit. I am going to blame the soda water...

Nicole- I enjoy camping but when it's raining, I have a hard time enjoying it. It sounds like you still had a pretty good time.

Hey did anyone buy the supplements when they started with LAWL? If you did, do you think they helped you thru food cravings or were they just vitamin supplements?

So I am leaving for Vegas Saturday instead of Monday. I am going for four days. I have to behave all week and definitely drink all my water. I realy want to do some shopping and with the heat there, my whole body will probably swell up.....
I still can't wait for a week away from the office....
We are taking our teenagers there. I hope we find enough to do without spending an arm and a leg. I want to spend one night having fun in the casino with my DH. Any of you ever been there and have some advice?

Okay gotta run,

Joan

Wow, Katie....sounds like you had quite an adventurous weekend. My DH has to put up with my famiy all the time, so I always smile when you mention your weekends with the kids, DH, and your sisters I consider myself pretty lucky cuz my DH actually likes my family Was the tire blow out scary? I worry about that, as we travel via car quite a bit.

Hooray for Kristen......still smoke free

Tina......so good to have you back. I am so happy for you that you were able to work things out with your Dad. Finding out someone you love is sick really is a reality check, isn't it? Congrats on your new comittment to taking better care of yourself

Barbara.........how did the hypnosis go? We are all on the edge of our seats, waiting to hear about it

Amy......I love NOT camping......but my kids and DH LOVE it....so I have learned to appreciate the fun in it. It really was a whole lot nicer this time, as I had no babies with me. That is a first in about 20 years

Ok, I have to go lie down........I have a touch of the stomach flu today, and it is kicking my butt. I will check in later, and you will see a lot of me in the next few weeks, as I will need all the inspiration and encouragement as possible as I begin, once again, to take care of me
XOXO

Nicole, First meeting with hypno lady is tomorrow. Then Thursday there is a group meeting and then another individual meeting after the conference thingie. So I'm a bit wondering how it will go myself.

Joan, I bought the supplements. There was more than vitamens in them though. Some of them had St. John's Wort, which is a known mood enhancer and also some things rather close to diet pills in others. They kept reformulating them though. I found them helpful.

I always found doing a TO knocked out sugar cravings when I spiraled out of control on starches. Of course just threatening myself with a TO is also an effective technique too. HA!

Joan, I've taken teens to Las Vegas before (only girls though). Lots of shopping that the girls loved, also they enjoyed the pool area a great deal, and also we had a good time all together seeing some shows. We went to a place which I think was called tickets tonight or something like that and they had highly discounted show tickets for many different places (not all shows could be purchased through them). We got some very reasonably priced Celine Dion tickets and the girls enjoyed that the most I think. However that was a bit of a splurge. Lost Wages is very hard on the wallet, as it seems that there are tons of cool things to do that all cost money, so just be sure your kids understand that before they get there. Oh and there are some pretty scary roller coasters and things that teens also love. We spent some money on that too. I actually did that terrifying big shot where you are 110 stories up and they shoot you up another couple of stories and then let you free fall down in the harness... and you see nothing below your feet but air... I screamed like the little girl I am inside that is for sure.

Good Afternoon Everyone. Just wanted to hop on real quick before I leave for the day. Was on vacation last week. Had 10 grandkids one day, 4 for the next 3 and 2 for the remainder of the week. There is a reason that we have kids when we are young!! Didn't eat the best and didn't exercise like I wanted to but figured I'd do better this week. I tried to be mindful of what I was putting in my mouth but I had my slip ups too.

Anyway, I'll check back in tomorrow after I've caught up a little more at work. Have a good night all.

Oh, how I love Vegas. Can I come too? It is gonna be really hot! Be sure to get off of the strip and go to Freemont street one night. The light show is amazing, and the "old style" casinos are fun. There are usually street vendors and live bands on the street on Freemont street, too. The Tropicana has a free bird show a couple of times a day that is fun, also the pirate fight at the Pirates of the Caribean. Shop at the Venetian. They have this amazing indoor shopping that feels like shopping outdoors in Venice, complete with Gondola rides. Also, the Paris has great shopping and food. There is a little authentic pastry shop there that is to DIE for. I could go on and on! Have fun!

Thank Goddess for me, my DH likes my family too. The blowout happened at a very good time for us, actually. We were still coming off of the mountain, and so we were going slow and the windows were down. One of the tires on the drivers side of our 5th wheel made this big hissing sound, so we pulled over. There was a huge hole in the side of it. We had it changed and were back on the road in just a few minutes. We were really lucky that it happened where and when it did, and that we had a good spare. The only crappy part is that I have to figure out how to buy a new tire in the next couple of weeks, and that is going to be expensive. My DH has been laid off for 7 months now, and things are really starting to get tight. There are just no jobs around here. Everyone cross your fingers that things will get better soon!

Jillian- I am worrying about you, check in, please!
