Default Forbidden Rice (Lotus foods brand)

I have to say I am in love with Forbidden Rice aka Black Rice. I usually make rice for my husband and don't eat any myself but I made some for my husband the other day and tasted it, it is oh so good. I can't wait because I added some to my soup for lunch today. It is high in fiber, high in iron and is rich in amino acids and a good source of protein.

When I was looking online at Amazon, I saw that our own Suzanne wrote a glowing review of it.

Anyone else tried it? Any good recipes that you've used with it?

I have never heard of it. Seeing as you were the one to turn me onto the Shiratake noodles--please do share! Where do you find it?

I actually initially ordered it online. I have seen it in various health food stores though as well. Usually in the rice/bean aisle.

Thank you! I will check my local stores--I have a couple of good health food places near to me.

I've not tried it, but have a friend who eats it whenever they would use normal rice. I seem to remember she used it in a paella type dish with some indian spices that she said was really yummy. I'll see if she had a recipe or if it was a 'toss whatever in the pan' kind of thing.

I love it! I also love Lotus Foods Organic Jade Rice. A 1/4 cup (dry) contains 14 grams of fiber. It's green from a bamboo infusion, and slightly sweet. Only the organic version has that much fiber.
