Sheesh, trying to beat the sugar.
Man, I think I'm having sugar withdrawals or something. I'm all shaky, and I am craving sugar like you wouldn't believe. I hope this gets easier soon. I'm going on 2 weeks and it seems like it's harder than ever. I'm eating tons of protein, I hear that helps. Aaaugh!

You know, I would say it PEAKED for me at about 2.5 weeks and then by 3-3.5 weeks I was good to go. It's freaking HARD and I totally commend all of your hard work in doing this. I would say it's one of the hardest things that I've EVER done, kicking sugar.
*hugs* I know it sucks. I know. You are doing so well though. Just hand on for a bit more my friend and it will get TONS easier.

Protein, fat and for me decaf and club soda also helped. As did brushing your teeth A LOT. (And smoking, but I wouldn't recommend it. And I quit soon thereafter!)

Thank you! Monday will be my 8th month anniversary. I smoked for 27 years, 1-2 packs a day most of that. I started when I was 12 years old. I quit cold turkey October 8, 2008 at 9 PM. Never looked back. It wasn't easy but today I feel as though I have never been a smoker. Don't miss it at all. Smoking did help me make it through Atkins induction, though!

Thinpossible, you're doing awesome, that's two weeks you won't have to live through again! I just went back and looked at my journal, I'm on day 24 and it looks like days 17 and 18 were the worst for cravings for me. I have been completely without any cravings since then, and it was well worth the pacing and drinking water and going to bed really early. Hang in!

Oh my.
Do you mind my asking why you are doing this--or what it is exactly you are doing?
Thanks.

I quit 2 and a half years ago cold turkey when I quit my job to start a new one. When I'm around or near or pass smokers, I can't believe I ever used to do that to myself or the people around me. Or that I ever used to smell that bad!!

Just hang in thinpossible - you're doing so well! This has taken a lot of strength, commitment and will power and you can keep this up until those cravings fade.
Just keep going. One day at a time and then one day it will be better.

Sugar addictions are extremely tough to break, but in the end you'll feel so much better for it!

Thanks everybody! I'm not giving up, I know it's got to get easier sooner or later. I had some watermelon today, that seemed to help.

I'm not eating any sugary stuff, that's anything that has sugar or sugar-like stuff ( ie: corn syrup, fructose, sucrose, etc.) in the first few ingredients, or any fast food. I'm doing it because sugar and fast food are pretty much what's making me fat. Also when I eat it I crave it more, and it's pretty much just a coping mechanism for me, so I'm kicking it to the curb.
