So what's going on?
Today is my second day following a 1600 calorie portion control plan for eating (Bob Greene's).
After every meal I've felt stuffed. I think my stomache has shrunk! But, still, I feel sort of hungry. I'm still looking for something to eat. I don't know what's going on.
Can anyone help me figure this out?

It's all in your head....if you feel full but still hungry then I suggest either eating a bit slower or find something to keep busy when you are feeling this way. I think it takes like 15-20 mins for your mind to recognize that your stomach is full.
It will get better in time! I'm one that will chew gum...some will say it helps and some will say it makes them more hungry though

Tea! Chew some gum! You are breaking the snacking habit, and that is a very powerful thing to tackle. So distraction might just do the trick right now. But tomorrow, plan for some evening snacks, JUST in case...
It takes a while to get the hang of a new eating plan. You're doing just fine.
Keep it up!

Thanks Ladies!
All I had for supper was one measely cup of homemade lentil soup and a glass of 1% milk with 1 oz of cheese. My head can't figure out how I can be full just on that?
Actually, after posting this (which was right after I ate) I went and finished putting away the groceries--so there's been a nice delay.
But it's weird. It's like I have this strange compulsion just to graze--what am I, a goat?
Gum. I think I'll try gum.

Not a goat! Not at all!!
But if your jaws are used to moving and crunching around this time, it'll feel weird if they suddenly aren't. Which leads to that uncomfortable feeling of "something is missing"!

lol I'm a grazer but I've found if I keep out things like a cup of red grapes, fresh baby carrots, popcorn, grape tomatoes, broccoli, etc I will graze on a serving almost all day (it'll start off as a morning or afternoon snack ).

A cup (an actual measured cup of soup) is pretty small. Milk isn't terribly filling. And cheese too? Just seems like a ton of dairy. I would have probably had a bowl of lentil soup and a small piece of whole grain bread. Volume is key for me - I generally eat a lot of veggies, piles of veggies to stay full!

Yeah, Glory, I was surprised. However, on this plan, I'm "allowed" 5 servings of grain a day. (1 serving = 80 calories) The Lentil soup alone was two! And I have one glass of milk a day. The cheese was almost the the last of my 5 oz. of protein. (The cheese plus the lentils = a complete protein)
I like the idea of keeping a serving of veggies out to nosh on. That'd work.
I still have 1 dairy, 1 fruit and 1 veg and 1 protein left for the day. Wow.

Maybe you're dehydrated, the signal for hungry and thirsty are the same.

That's all? I could never survive! Doesn't seem like very much. Aren't you allowed to have lots of veggies with that too to help fill you up?

It's homemade Lentil soup--I made up a big batch on the weekend as an "emergency meal."
It's chock full of veggies! --and more the consistency of a stew (shredded carrots) than a soup. I need to put the recipe through fitday to get the proper calorie count, but I counted it as two grains and one veggie.
