Default P. related question. TMI but I had to ask.

So I've said before that as well as always drinking 8 cups, I go by p.colour if I need any more. Doesn't often happen.

This last couple of days I've been drinking tons but the colour's still dark. I've had 80oz today plus hot drinks (It's 6pm here, be up for another 5 hours, so more fluids still to come) and we're talking the colour of cold tea. I've sometimes thought it might be a sign of burning extra fat? Didn't lead to any great weight loss this week. I don't feel thirsty.

Any thoughts?

I would keep an eye on it and if it persists then contact your doctor girlie...what did you eat?

I was reading more about it and found this link to have more in depth info

Yup, B vitamins create very dark urine for me, too, even when I am extremely hydrated. If that isn't the case and the abnormal urine persists be sure to contact a dr. as it could be a urinary tract infection or some other issue.

asparagus, certain vitamins and supplements, and beets, and berrys can all effect color for me

Isn't it amazing? We went through life just eating whatever, like there was no tomorrow, and all of a sudden we get on a weight loss program and start staring into the toilet. Is it the right color? Is there enough of it? Am I regular? Do I need fiber? How much? How often?

Lots of things can cause dark urine, including blood--although you can have blood in your urine and not see it. I'd go to the doctor and find out what it is, if it worries you.

Is the amount you go any less? If so I would recommend calling your doctor. Lower output combined with darker/concentrated color could mean lots of things. Best to ask you doctor to be sure.

Thanks guys. I'd due to take in a little sample this week, so that should cover things. I hadn't thought about illness, I thought it might be fat burning or something.
I'll bend my mind to that after I've got tomorrow's hysteroscopy over with. Sigh.

Ah, hysteroscopies are so much fun...NOT. Seriously though, it's really not so bad, just slightly uncomfortable. It will be done fairly quickly. Are they looking for something particular?

Yup, they're looking for the cause of post-menopausal bleeding.

2003 - 2005 Diminishing visits from Auntie Flo
2005 - 2007 Nothing. Menopause declared
2007 Oops, no it's not. Had the tests. All fine.
2007 - 2009 Flo calls about 3 times a year.
2009 Move house and so doctor's practice, they don't like the sound of it, so getting tests done again at another hospital. Ultra sounds last week, hysteroscopy this.
I'm sure it'll be fine, I just shouldn't have googled it!
