Default Gift Ideas for Someone Coming Home from The Hospital Today

I havent been over here in quite a while, but when a friend of mine told me she was going in to have lap band surgery done...you ladies were the first in my thoughts.

Hopefully she will come by for help and advice.

What I would like to know is; what would make a nice gift for someone coming home from the hospital today who lap band done.

I dont want to do flowers and all that stuff, I'd like to do a basket of "tools/foods/products" that will help her with her journey.

What would you have liked to have when you got home?

Hey Robin, good to see you chickie

How about a gift card for a mani or pedi

Hmmm a basket for the band.... maybe something to read, crossword puzzles, some nice tea's, I would stay away from any foods as you don't know what the doc prescribed for her. Some crystal light packets, maybe some water bottles.... ummm hmmmmm... some nice smelly soaps.... a chipindale stripper ??? haaaaaa jk.

good luck... your such a nice friend.

you're too funny Leenie! I think she'd really like that one the best...even tho she couldnt do anything with him

Thanks for the ideas, I think I'll go out tonight and see what I can find. I was reading in another section, many ladies use those big body pillows when they first get home. That might be a good idea for her too, with some of the goodies you mentioned.

hmmm....lots to think about!

Thanks Leenie! I hope all is well with you! I dont move too far from the Beck section anymore. Have an awesome weekend!

Popping in - Studies have shown that having potted plants or flowers in the room post-surgery actually helps reduce the patient perception of pain - they actually report LESS pain than those who had similar procedures, but don't have plants/flowers in their rooms. After reading one of those, I always fall back on flowers as part of any "get well" gift.
