Default Meatballs

Can I make meatballs without breadcrumbs? Will they hold together enough? In essence could I just use meat and some finely diced onion and bell pepper and spices?

I have never put breadcrumbs in my meatballs - they end up fine for me. Just don't overwork the meat!

I keep mine moist with grated onion and zucchini...yum!

I bind mine together with tomato puree, no breadcrumbs - works great.

I use a couple of egg whites to help hold it together.

Oh and I love the idea of the grated zucchini. Thanks Amanda.

I use rolled oats (reg. oatmeal) instead of breadcrumbs in my meatloaf. It works great!

I do the same as RR--just egg whites usually. I use ground turkey that is pre-seasoned. I am not sure if that makes a difference.
