I gained 5 pounds the first month of watching my intake and workout out 45+ minutes a day, five days a week. After the first 4-5 weeks I steadily lost 1-2 pounds a week for a while without problems...
I lost about 20 pounds my first month. I think a lot of that was water weight, though. Plus I ate really badly before I started, over 4000 calories daily, and now i average about 1500. On top of that, I've been exercising fairly regularly, and work a pretty labor intensive job at a home improvement center.
(Then at 7 or 8 pounds for another couple months, then 5 pounds in month 5, then back up again. Last I did the math, a few weeks ago, it came out to an average 8.25 lbs per month.)
I don't think it's abnormal that you lost so much at first. Some people will, depending on a lot of factors.
Thanks all,
I am just so excited that i lost what i did so far.. But i am also worried that when the weight loss slows down that i will be all depressed and upset because i am not losing then like i am now.. This always happens to me.. I hope i can keep it up like the rest of you are doing..
I think I lost about 10 lbs the first month... Loss is much slower now but I've got the rest of my life to get this weight off so as long as the scale is going down I'm happy!
I lost 7 pounds from January 13th to February 14th. I got a little more active but I didn't really exercise too much so I did really well, but boy has it Slowwwwwed down now. I'm happy with a pound a week. Wheee.
When I first started, I didn't keep track of my weight quite so closely as I do now (I wasn't obsessed yet, hehe! ), but according to the few "records" I did keep, I was 263 lbs on July 18th and 239 lbs on August 22--so, roughly 24 lbs in my first month... WHOA! Of course, I'm totally aware that it was like 80% water weight - plus weight seems to come off much more quickly when you have so much to lose - but jeez!! Those really were the days!
