You can go, just stretch really well and do something low impact. Try to keep excessive weight off of it and keep jarring motions to a minimum until the swelling goes down or you could tear something. Ride the stationary bike, work on your upper body and abs. When you get home, stretch it again, soak it in some hot water and epsom salt, and then ice it for 20 minutes before you go to bed. It should be good as new in a day or two.
I've got tarsal coalition (the bones in my ankle are fused) and I sprain and twist it constantly since I have no side to side motion in it. The best thing to do is keep it moving. Walk it off, as it were. Hope this helps.
