Default what's TOM got to do... got to do with it?

i hear people say all the time that TOM can have an effect on your weight from 1-8 pounds or so..... is this true? and WHY? maybe it should be obvious to me but its not. i'm not losing ANY weight at all and i'm totally right on with my calorie counting. maybe it's TOM's fault!!!!!??? lol.

Your body holds onto water during TOM.

I tend to do the same thing during my TOM. Pretty much stall for a week or so. Then the weight comes off in a pound or two the week after.

well i guess i figured that your body holds on to water during TOM... i just wasn't sure why! but i hate it either way. i'm eating between 1200 and 1400 calories a day. i'm SERIOUSLY getting frustrated. i do exercise when i get the time, but shouldn't i STILL lose weight just by calorie restricting???!!!

i will admit that it sometimes is an excuse to take time off and eat what ever i want. blame the hormnes or what ever you want. i use that week as motivation to keep going and stay on track or at least maintain. or that has been my attak plan the last few months and it realy has helped. not only with the weight loss but also with everything associated with TOM. i just feel better all the way around. i figure if i can do it then and be successfull i can do it anytime of the month and see success.

I do believe that 12-1400 calories is too little for someone your size. I started out at 1800 at close to 400 lbs and then dropped to 1700 around 300 and there I am still. And losing weight fine (other than a brief stall due to TOM etc.)

really? i'm eating too little calories? i'm new at the calorie counting kind of... so i'm open to any advice. i guess i gave myself the range of 1200 to 1400 calories a day because it feels pretty comfortable to me. i'm not starving all the time and i still get to eat things i like. i don't want to under-eat but i'm also scared that if i eat more than 1400 i won't lose any weight. but who am i kidding.... i'm not losing much right now anyways. WHATS WRONG WITH ME!!!??

Well I am 268 lbs and losing an average of 3-3.5 pounds a week on 1700 calories average a day through calorie shifting... I would personally say that FOR ME 12-1400 would be too low. It might be just fine for you though.

It's a part of human biology

I don't weigh myself during TOM since I prefer getting accurate numbers (or as close as I can on a scale ) instead of fluctuating numbers from TOM.

Hang in there!

i personally eat bettween 1200 and 1400 calories, but try to aim for 1200. i also exercise(or did till a fractored leg) for atleast a hour a day...the exercises are on a website that i goto for the online weight loss wars im currently trying to win..500.00(not nearly as big as the biggest loser, but some is better then none). I contacted my trainer threw there, and shes going to send me motified moves i can do.

i gain 8-13lbs of water during TOM, but the week after its all gone and some.
