it seems everyday that I get MAJORmunchie attacks about 3PM..... like it's almost schedueled (splg?)!!! Does anyone else have this issue? I am thinking it's all in my head! Am I right????
I get them now and then too, I satisfy myself with like 5 prunes (only 100 calories) or like 10 almonds (70 calories) or a piece of cojack cheese (prepackaged 60 calories).
Definitely helps me to not be ravenous by dinnertime (5ish).
I totally get you. I'm the exact same way. Sometime between 2:30 and 3p, I start having the munchies. Since I've started on my new program, I usually have my afternoon snack around then. Today it's sliced jicama. Gives me the good crunch and is only 46 calories per cup.
I am also a victim of the 3pm munchies! I think the reason I was having trouble was because I work to 2:30pm and get home around 3pm. I would have a really small lunch (because I was trying to lose weight lol) and would be famished when I got home. I would binge and still eat dinner at 5-6pm. So not a good idea! Now I make sure to eat a real lunch at work, even if it's oatmeal (my standby) and yogurt. I also keep almonds and those snack pack prunes in my desk as well as cheese and hard-boiled eggs in the office fridge.
Not only do I get the munchies between 2:30 and 3:00, but I get super sleepy. I can't stop yawning.

Finally I understand the multi quote function!!! Anyway...I too have the same problem, and I always tend to eat something that makes me MORE hungry. The protein point is a good one. I will try it...probably in about an hour when the snack monster comes along and I'm yawning!!!
I have a protein with Every meal
either a shake (or a scoop of shake mix in coffee
veggies and hummus or an HB egg
cheese and anything!
esp if you're having a carb (not that you do that ) have protein!!
I actually will have a drop in bloodsugar at about 3pm if I eat a lunch that is high in carbs...I eat a good protein focused lunch and a small protein/fat (nuts or cheese work great) snack and I don't have that crash.
