I have make my own lunch...."Oh you poor baby "...as Angie would say...
Anyway almost every single day I make a thermos of soup...some healthy....some home made....
not the problem...
I also make a sandwich....almost always it is turkey from the deli on whole wheat with lettuce and tomato....75% of the time...the other 25% is Black Forest ham on rye with mustard and lettuce and tomato...
I am so tired of this!
I need MORE sandwich choices!
I know this is a selfish request but....too bad
Can you help a poor guy out that makes his own lunch every day?
Roast beef (make sure it looks lean). Hummus! If you normally get plain turkey, try "smoked" or "honey roasted" turkey or chicken. PB&J with natural peanut butter and no-sugar-added jam/jelly. You could make a BLT with low-sodium turkey bacon. If you're feeling really ambitious, you could grill a portabello mushroom (marinated or coated in Italian dressing is good)... I swear, it even tastes good cold.
I like deli turkey or chicken with a REALLY thin slice or two of salami, or sandwich pepperoni... it adds so much flavor that I deal with the saturated fat and preservatives and stuff (it's not much if you're only using a slice or two).
You could buy some whole wheat tortillas or flatbreads and make that sandwich into a wrap, just to have something different.

Angie's such a sweetie. I'd say, "So. Suck it up, D****e Bag."
You may also want to check out the Fit and Fresh containers. They have blue ice packs that fit right in the containers so they do a better job of keeping the food cold. Also, if you want to save space, you could just freeze half of your water bottles(I take one from the freezer and one from the fridge). That way they will keep your food cold and the frozen ones will have melted by afternoon.
Hm, some ideas might be:
-A whole wheat pita stuffed with tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, cut up chicken (or turkey) and some italian dressing/tzatziki sauce/hummus.
-Try using pesto or hummus for a topping... or maybe an olive tapenade.
-Maybe some different veggies? Like maybe some roasted red bell peppers.
-Different bread? Like maybe use a whole grain artisan bread sliced up...
You could always look to delis and places like Panera Bread for inspiration.
i make a pretty awesome philly in the wok with some deli roast beef, onion and peppers- toss on the bread and yum. would probably be good cold. also do the same thing with chicken breast from the deli, onions and a splash of teryaki yum. if you have allowance for it both are good with a slice of cheese too.
i like the pita idea too. can stuff a bunch of veggies in there with some hummus and some deli meat of your choice. yum.
Tuna salad and chicken salad, maybe egg salad if you're not worried about cholesterol. I think I've seen some good recipes to substitute mayo, let you know if I see 'em.
I like pb&j with a side of cottage cheese or greek yogurt for the protein.
Adding roasted red bell pepper strips, green chile, chopped green olives (pressed into a schmear of laughing cow cheese), or avocado really dresses up a turkey sandwich. Try different breads: rye, sourdough, green chile bread, olive/rosemary bread. Or wraps---flat out, flavored tortillas. You could broil some fish (then keep it cold!) and serve it wrapped in corn tortillas with cabbage, guac, and a squirt of lime.
Thank you all so much for the ideas! I usually make my lunch for the day around 3:30am so it needs to be easy for me! I am going to take you up on these.
