has anyone else seen this website?
There is a website that was featured in our local paper, called thisiswhyyourefat dot com. Can't put the link in as I don't have enough posts. It is self described as "the site where dreams become heart attacks"!!!This website shows pictures of the most horrible foods that people actually eat, like meatloaf stuffed with macaroni and cheese, and something called the mcnugget martini, and other such stuff. Kind of funny! Awfully gross!Thoughts?

Thanks for the reminder, I hadn't looked at this in weeks, they've added a lot more!
I said it last time we discussed this -- most of those are purposely outrageous, which makes me sad that the Garbage Plate is on there, that's a legitimate meal for drunken Rochesterians at 3am!
Some of those make me hungry, some make me sick, and some make me laugh. (The "McSurf 'N Turf" made me giggle, and the "meta-pizza" cracked me up!)

I think novelty foods are not why most people are fat. They're funny to see, and talk about, but I don't think many people eat stuff like this regularly (or at all).
I gained most of my weight on sensible foods, I just ate far from sensible portions. I almost never ate dessert or sugary foods (at least foods that were obviously mostly sugar, I didn't realize how many savory foods contain large amounts of sugar until I started watching carbs).

First time I clicked the link they had the Elvis Donut on top and I was thinking "what, they don't have the Fifth Third Burger" (that I started another thread about)? Then a minute later I clicked back on, and there was the 5/3 gutbombzilla on top!

Heavens to Betsy, kaplods, I hope not
Looking at the site a little further: deep-fried black pudding??? Eeeewwwww. It doesn't look that excessively caloriffic (at least compared to the 5/3), it's just that (apologies to black pudding lovers) *I* don't find the black pudding very appetizing
ETA 14:22: black pudding: aka blood sausage: nothing to do with dessert pudding

i am guilty of occasionally eating somethin pretty greasy and fatty... but none of this even looks good. it must be my current frame of mind making my stomach turn at the site of it all. i guess thats a good thing!
but someone is going to have to explain to me the need to deepfry a pizza.
and a deepfried grilled cheese.
and deepfried guacamole.

Wow!
I can't even imagine how somebody can even come up with such culinary "creations".
None of them looked remotely appetizing to me.

I thought a few looked edible, even though I'm generally not drawn to greasy foods or typical fast food or gooey fair. However I am currently in the middle of my "werewolf" phase (killer PMS) and some of it looks better today than it did when I first visited the site several weeks ago. The hotdog coated in fries probably wouldn't be calorifically worse than a typical corn dog.
The scariest for me our the donut/meat combos. Donuts turn my stomach a bit anyway. I think even as a kid I had blood sugar issues, because any sweet food in the morning made me sick, but especially pancakes, waffles, and donuts. Generally when I was a kid, donuts were a "special treat," usually on a Sunday if at all, and I soon learned to pick mine and save them for later in the day (and hope my brother didn't find my hiding spot), or I'd try to pick out the least sugary donut (and would still get sick). As a result, the sight of donuts tend to make me a bit queasy anyway - adding burgers or sloppy joe and my stomach just flips - and I've got a cast iron stomach for most "weird" foods, but pastry and meats do not mix in my mind (the twinkie hotdog is equally disturbing - I don't think I've eaten a twinkie in the last 38 years of my 43 on the planet. Even in grade school I would trade my twinkies for "better" stuff.
