Default Hamburger and Tofu

I read somewhere on this website where someone mixes tofu with hamburger meat. Since the weather will be unseasonable warm tomorrow, I was pondering doing that and grilling out. I bought some tofu just to have around. How would I do that? Any other veggies that are great to grill out?

Oh I looove to grill vegetables! WHenever I make burgers for the kids, I just make veggies for me. The best "burger" in the world is one made from fresh vegs. I prep my veggies:
thick round slices of sweet onions
wedges of red and green peppers
zucchini and yellow crookneck squash, sliced 1/4" thick lengthwise so they are long strips, not coins
Circles of eggplant (optional)

Then I brush all the veggies or spray them with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper and grill until tender. Then just pile the veggies onto a bun (or a square of foccacia bread is YUMMY) with a little light mayo or mashed avocado, and a bit of feta sprinkled on top. OMG SO GOOD.

I also like to grill whole portabella caps and put that on a bun like a burger.

Grilled pineapple (brushed in olive oil, lime juice and sprinkled with chili powder) makes a nice dessert.

portobello mushrooms are great on the grill, as are are red peppers and thick sliced onion. pile all three of those together on a toasted roll and add a little arugula and balsamic and you've got yourself one delicious meal. i prefer it over beef any day!

I've heard that if you freeze tofu, it makes the texture more steak-y -- my husband says to marinate it and then freeze it before grilling it.
