Talking It has begun!!

Today I am feeling very proud of myself!! I have joined this wonderful forum...I joined the gym in my neighborhood and I went and bought new running shoes!! ( I actually went to a running store and they did a few tests to help me determine the best shoes for me!!) I can't wait to give them a whirl!! I'll be starting my workouts tmw. So I'm going to try to stay committed to working out and posting!

Yay me...at least for today!!

Well I completed my first workout today and I'm feeling pretty good. 30 min on the treadmill and another 30 working with the free weights...I'm really going to try to be more conscious of what I eat. I'm hoping to use all of you to hold me accountable..(if I feel like I have to post what I'm doing...maybe I'll make better choices every day!)

Well thanks for your welcome and encouragement!!

TMW..I start my trial with the trainer.

Thanks. Today was my first day with my trainer...it was rough but I got through it. It seems I'm 6 pounds lighter than I thought...so that's good...maybe I really will be able to get below 200 by spring.

Day 3 with my trainer and I'm feeling alright! I signed up for 5 more sessions..just meeting once a week to tweak my plan. I finally sat down and wrote out my goals.

Doe anyone know of a site or tool to calculate how many calories/fat..etc are in something you make like a tuna salad or chicken salad?

Thanks!!

Try DailyPlate.com.

Your best idea is to measure all your own ingredients and then divide into portions so you know exactly what you are getting calorie wise. Tuna salad or chicken salad will vary based on what exactly you are using--Fat Free, full-fat, chicken breast or darker meat, etc.

Thanks! I found a decent converter at spark people...so now I can really get down to business with keeping track of my eating. I have officially logged my first day of food...we'll see how this goes.
