Default New exercise recommendations

I saw on tv and the paper today that it is now recommended that we exercise an hour a day for good health. If not an hour straight then an hour total. If you exercise for say 30 minutes and then do another half hour of heavy cleaning, etc.. that counts too. They said they realized the really healthy people are more active than what the govt says we should do which was 30 minutes a day most days of the week.
I am really in trouble then. Just lately I have been walking but only 15-30 minutes a day!!
how well you do stack up??

Fortunately, now that school's started, I walk both ways (having no choice but to excersize! lol... that's a good way to do it, i guess.) So i'm walking for about 40 minutes per day, and then i usually end up aerobic/dancing for about 20 minutes and night, and i'm starting Tae Bo... this will be the first time on a diet i'm actually excersizing! *blush!* gee, ya think it'll make a difference? DUUUUUUUUUHHHH. Peace! -Apryl

hmmm. i'm walking for at least 45 minutes in the morning, but that's about the extent of it. except for running around the office. even so, i'm fairly sedentary at work. the desk job thing, ya know.

Nasus-I am sure working as a nurse has to count. You arent sitting on your butt all day like yours truly!!

Jiff-45 minutes a day is awesome. I am doing only 15 and I just really started again this week. I have never been much of an exerciser so I am working my way up. I am sure with your daily housework (laundry, dishes, etc..) you get in more activity than you realize!

Apryl-girl, you are wearing me out just reading your post! I think if you walk at a quick pace to and from school plus the exercise tapes you will will be dropping weight like crazy!

These new recmmendations were a wake up call to me to get off my butt! If you all can do so much then so can I!!
