Default You know it's not just another diet when

you rearrange two rooms in your house - one to make room for a new piece of exercise equipment and the other so you can work out with DVDs in that room. And you only have 4 rooms in your apartment!

Maintaining has really shown me how much of a life change this is, and always has to be. Any time I make the mistake of thinking I can slide back to eating the way I used to or slacking on exercise the scale clears up the confusion for me immediately

So what are the things in your life that make you realize it really is a lifestyle change?

I've fought weight since puberty. For me, one of two things is happening -- I'm gaining or I'm losing. Maintaining might be a pipe dream.

By the way, your weight loss is very impressive. Did you do it all on SBD? Do you have pictures?

Chelby - I started gaining when I was 7, so I know what you mean. I did it all on SBD though I do use calorie counting as a back-up because I can overeat healthy food as much as unhealthy food.

Have you checked out the maintainers forum? It will give you hope about maintaining. A lot of those Chicks have been where we have been and if they are doing it we can too!! When I was losing I would read goal stories every few days just to remind me that it could be done.

WOW, Cyndi, you look amazing! Congratulations. Are you married to the man you were dating in the first picture?

I'll check out the maintainers forum.

You know it's not just another diet when....everyone wants to know your secret to weight loss. Maybe it's just because it's the new year, but everyone I work with is asking about South Beach and how I lost weight (and maintained the loss for about 9 months). Just yesterday a co-worker told me I should teach a South Beach class at work. I'm directing everyone to the book and 3FC website.
