Default New gal on the block

Well, tis the season! I'm new to this page but not new to weight loss. I've spent 20 years overweight and have tried WW at least half a dozen times. The best I've done is 30 pounds, nothing really to sneeze at but, endurance has not been my strong suit. I've spent the last couple of months self analyzing and wrapping my head around the "me I want to be."

I'm ready. This group seems so supportive of each other. You've all been there! I realize that the healthiest way to do it is to eat healthy. No gimmicky stuff. But I need to lose it as fast as possible before I get bored. I've never been much for excercise, but I am committed to a healthier me this year. So walking and biking will be my healthy activities.

While I'm relying on me to get this done before I turn 50 (I'm 47), I'm leaning on you all for support!

Default 40s and trying

Are the 40s just a pain? It's all good with the prime of your life stuff, but our metabolism is just darn mean in our 40s. I'm right there with you. Starting at Christmas time at 240 with a goal of 160ish. I've been walking 3 miles at lunch (4.7 WW points in exercise thank you) and today I'm off to the gym for something new. I hate the gym. I always feel like everyone's staring. Why is that? They're just fighting their own battles too, but my confidence is just battered. Good luck to you!

So glad to hear from another "newbie". Like yourself I'm new to the board too. The last couple of days reading the different posts has been encouraging to me I'm going to be turning 50 this summer, so I know where you are coming from. It's harder now it seems to lose weight quick, so I am just going to plug along and take it one day at a time. Hope you do well on your journey and try not to get discouraged. From what I have been reading on this board it comes off if you just stick with it.

Patti!!

One lil suggestion? You might want to try and focus on making lifestyle changes rather than something that's going to end.

on the commitment to a healthier you!! Our stats are pretty similar...so I can say from experience - YOU CAN DO THIS!!

Hi Patti!

Good luck with your weight loss. To ward off boredom (which I always suffer from too!) you might want to make mini-goals for yourself and set fun rewards at the end of them. Then you have something to look forward to and you might be less likely to get bored and quit!

You can do it!
