Default Yay for poo'ing!

This morning I woke up and weighed myself and I was .5 pound above where I was yesterday. I know it happens.. water weight.. hormones.. etc. but I HATE when it happens!

Then an hour later I used the bathroom and just for giggles, I weighed myself after and guess what? I was down exactly .5 pound!

ok, ok. I know. Gross. But oh so wonderful.

I am so glad I am not alone with this! LOL. I do that too! I exercise at 5:30 every morning. My routine is to jump outta bed, go potty, weigh naked, dress and workout. Often after workout I have to potty again, so AGAIN I get back on the scale after workout and potty 2. LOL.

Default Like the title of the children's book "Everyone Poops"!

Gross for sure but it is what it is!! I always hope that I'm able to "go" the morning before my weekly Weight Watcher's weigh in. I weigh in at noon. On weigh in days I eat a very small breakfast, don't drink too much water and pee right before the weigh in. I don't want an even an ounce extra on my weigh in.

Hey, we are all grown ups here and most likely 99% of us have had the exact same thought you did!

I think I just sucked my cough drop into my lungs laughing!

Thanks, I needed that today! I'm home sick with a cold and a little weird feeling from a steroid shot. Now, I'm feeling much lighter!

And, I feel you - I often do the same thing!

LMAO!! I do the same thing. I always hate to weigh myself right when I wake up because I know there's still food and what not in my body that adds to the scale. I usually weigh myself after I go. LOL. This morning I weighed myself before I went and it was 193.3 and then after an hour or so (after I went LOL) I was back down in the 192's.

Ummm, helllooooo. I don't even get on the scale til I'm, well, until everything's, well until I've - gone. Yeah, that's it. Til I've gone.

Hee. My scale is in the downstairs bathroom. I often weigh after .. um .. a bathroom session.

I'm just naturally curious like that. Yesterday evening I pee'd out about .25 lbs of water.

And by the way, did you know that a pint of water = 1 lb?
2 (8oz) cups = 1 pint
2 pints = 1 quart
4 quarts = 1 gallon

So if you drink a bottle of water (20 oz) at one go, you have 1.25 lbs of water sitting in your stomach?

Fascinating stuff, this.

I am like Rockinrobin. No poop = no hopping on the scale.
Fortunately, it is not a problem because I am, for the most part, very regular. I make sure #2 happens before I go to work - if not, I am bloated and miserable all day.

Whew. I was so nervous to check this thread thinking that everyone was going to be posting about what a sick monkey I am.

I think I'll join the "No go - no scale" group. It makes sense. Especially if you go every morning. I'm not terribly regular is the thing. Before I started eating more healthfully about 3 weeks ago, I only went once or twice a week. Now that I've upped my fiber, I have gone at least once every day for the last 1.5-2 weeks. And I feel MUCH better. I'm not even AS cranky anymore. lol.

But what happens if you get up, go and weigh but in between you've eaten breakfast?

Then you have to weigh yourself again! Agggh! It's a never ending cycle.LOL
I think that is why all the diet gurus say to only weigh once a week (yeah, right!) to not get too focused on the little changes.

I weigh daily just for the heck of it but focus on the big weigh in once a week at Weight Watchers. Knowing that I fluctuate up and down .5, 1.25...whatever...helps me to take the big weigh in with a grain of salt. For me it is the overall downward movement of the scale that matters over time...not so much the little bits here and there.

Michelle - I completely agree, which is why I am look at how many pounds lost since I started, instead of how many pounds lost since Monday. lol.

I weigh myself everyday mostly just to hold myself accountable. I don't LIKE when it goes up .5 pound, so I am more likely to make healthy choices that day, you know what I mean? It's just another tool for me to keep on track.

Exactly! I don't like it when the scale goes up for sure!! But I do try to remain philosophical about the entire ordeal!

Weighing myself every day does help me to be accountable, too. Although, it it has worked the opposite on days when my resolve has weakened, "I have stayed on plan and then my scale goes up?? Just for that I'm going to eat anything I can get my hands on." I quickly rein that type of thinking in though as that is how I came to be 100+ lbs over weight!

But then we've gotten off track here, haven't we!! LOL
