Default I've been dying to ask this question....

For those who know by either experience or from hearing it or reading or whatever.... Do your feet get smaller when you lose a lot of weight???

I wear size 12 wide footwear, and even sometimes the wides, aren't wide enough... is there hope for my shoe fetish that's hiding deep down inside of me waiting to burst into song and dance when I lose weight?

Yes. I was wearing an 8.5 in most things and right now I wear a 7 or 7.5, depending on the designer.

Of course you will. You lose weight all over your body. I was wearing 8 or 9 and now wear 7 or 7 1/2.

I totally know where you're coming from on the "shoe diva waiting to come out" front.

My mom ALWAYS made fun of my feet...offered to give me "the boxes" to her shoes, etc, etc, har-dee-har-har, very funny. One day she said (I think it slipped out...and then she did ALL kinds of backpedaling) "your feet aren't exactly fat. They're just puffy". Ouch. I always had to get wide shoes, and even those didn't always fit. Nothing strappy - it dug into the foot fat. I was NOT happy with the shoes available to me.

Fast forward to me getting fitted for running shoes a month ago. She measures me, says I'm about a 9.5. In RUNNING shoes! And then she said "do you normally wear a narrow, or do you just stay in standard width? You're right on the border".

I may or may not have cried. Which required all kinds of explanations to the poor salesgirl ("I'm so sorry. See, I used to be really obese, and my feet were so big and I could never find shoes and I had to order WIDE and its just so ridiculous that I'm crying but I can't imagine ever being a narrow and gosh, I'm so sorry..." Yeah - THAT wasn't embarrassing)

Thumbs up RE: shoe size after losing weight

Went from a wide to medium - feet stayed the same length.
