Default Recommitting: The "Buckle Down" Thread

OK, so I know a bunch of us in the weekly chat have been discussing how we need to "buckle down" and recommit ourselves to this journey. So here is our new thread.

Post here if you're in and have any sweet ideas for some kind of challenge (or we can all just post our goals and keep each other updated on how we are doing).

No time like the present, right? Let's get this thing started!

Good Idea! I definitely need to buckle down, and there is nothing like 3FC to help me do it. It is time to get the rest of this weight off. I don't have any ideas for a challenge, but I can give you a goal or two.

1. Be in the 140's by Christmas
2. Get back on track with counting my calories!

I need to buckle down as well or just start over. I hope I can join. Also I was thinking of doing like a monthly resolutions kind of thing instead of waiting for New Years. It is just an idea.

I need to be on it...I tend to lose weight and then gain it right back. It's like "Oh, I can lose it, now I'll eat whatever I want and I'll get around to losing it later." I actually lost 5 lbs last week (they took my weight at the doctors on Fri) and I gained it all back by Sunday. So I'm right back where I started from.

So, I'm going to...

1. work out every day...no excuses...even if it's just sit ups and push ups...that still counts as something.
2. stop the over eating weekends...But I will allow myself 2500 cals on Sunday and Saturday only IF I stay on plan Mon-Fri
3. be 220 by Christmas...I can do this!

We could do a % weight loss challange for the month of October. We could do the two teams - everyone can send their weight to "our leader" (whoever we decide that to be) and send in our weekly weights to that person. Not sure what the winning team would win other then just to say "We one" but that's good enough for me! If we stick with it then we could do something else for the next month.

...just an idea!

JamieJo the % weight loss challenge sounds fun to me. I'd join if that's what we end up doing. I'm working hard to lose the last few pounds and I really have to push myself!

Yes! My goal is to actually see a move (downwards) in the scale and to hit the gym at least three times a week.

Cali thats us both aiming for goals by Xmas, we can do this thing!

Tigger - Awesome!

I'm in!!
I like the idea of a % loss challenge too. I am s-l-o-w-l-y getting my weight closer to goa but it is taking forever.

Caligirl- I'm with you. Stop the over-eating weekends.

I also need to recommit to limited snacking and bites from hubby's plate. Those calories add up and are super hard to count!

Hmm, well, an individual % weight loss challenge would be pretty straightforward. We could just have a weekly weigh-in and then have a winner each week and an overall winner or something. If someone wants to set up a team challenge though, a la The Biggest Loser, I'd be in for sure. We could do sign-ups and then split into teams and do the challenge that way... What do we think?

I would like to do the team deal for sure! Would we do that by percentage of weight loss per team? I'm totally in!
