Question Don't read if you get grossed out

Okay so here's the deal. Last few weeks i ate on track, but I remained at 132.5 for what seemed like forever. However, I was low on money so I wasn't eating much fruit or veggies, which I think is what resulted in me having really irregular bowel movements, I hardly had any...

Wednesday I got groceries and started eating fruits and veggies again and over the weekend away - I was fed all this wonderful food (lots of fruit!) and it seemed to regulate my system... almost to much, I was having lots of BMs. So I came back from my weekend away - weighed myself, and the scale said 128. How is this possible?

I didn't believe it, so I waited, and yesterday AND today it hasn't changed yet. I asked my sister if the scale was off for her - she said no.

So.... is it possible that my system was just "backed up" and when I .... cleared it out... I lost weight?

That's my only explanation

Sorry for the details... help!

It may have had something to do with it. You may also have lost some water weight if you hadn't been eating fruits and veggies before.

Your body adjusts to the foods that you eat as far as how much you're "going." Some foods make you more constipated than others. Fruits and veggies are filled with fiber and make you go a lot more versus if you don't. Your body was holding onto all that extra weight. Congratz on all the weight loss!

funny you mention water. during my weekend away I was on a choir retreat, and we had section "Olympics" haha. But one of the relays was for your entire section to chug a 24 pack of bottled water. Well, I chugged 3 of them under a minute - me and another girl immediately puked all our water right back up. Everyone thought it was pretty funny - sadly, my section didn't even win

I believe this is normal. Especially if your body is retaining water. You can fluctuate 5lbs because of this.

Well thats a lot of water to chug! Haha. Your stomach can only hold so much and it'll expel whatever you put in it if you push its limits! You could say it got angry at you and yelled at you! haha

ok guys, dont read my post if you get grossed out...
I suffer from IBS and you can go through stages of permanently "going to the toilet" or not going for days at a time. And my weight totally changes depending what stage im going through... Nice eh?

Just wanted to add that I think this is totally possible. I once weighed myself before and after "going" (no, I'm not a weirdo or a laxative abuser--I was just curious LOL) and there was a difference of 0.4-0.6 lbs! So if you've been having lots of BMs lately, it seems like that would mess with your body chemistry enough to punch off a couple pounds. Just enjoy it, heh. Hopefully it will last!

haha oh mys this topic sure has hit home!! Sometimes I can go about 3-4 days w/out having a BM. I eat TONS of high fibre weight control oatmeal/ fruit/ All bran/ and drink lots of water..but I do find that if I do go a few days w/out using I feel bloated and if suddenly I start using more often say 1-2 times daily I will have a sudden weight loss......Do you think this could be IBS? Can you have IBS by just not going for a few days and then being regular for a few???
