Default Extra Strength SoloSlim.. Mental? or Real?

OK.. so a salesman that my father knows took a diet pill called SoloSlim and had great results.. and recommended that I try it.

I looked at reviews on the internet, although there weren't very many, and they all pretty much said the same thing. They took and it and it REALLY HELPED their appetites... Some people didn't even want to look at food because it made them feel ill, some people just weren't hungry for the whole day.

I purchased it and took it for the first time today... It says to take it 20 min. before breakfast...

When I took it, I was ABSOLUTELY STARVING, and about 30 minutes after taking it, my hunger went away completely.

Do you think this happened just because I read all of those reviews and it was a mental thing? or... Do you think it actually works?

All I ate today was an apple that I forced myself to eat, because I honestly am not hungry at all. I had a vigorous workout with my personal trainer.. and I'm still not hungry.

Has anyone else taken this? or even heard of it?

Honestly, I steer clear of any diet pills or products that would take away hunger. I have heard horror stories of different products from friends or in depositions that I took. When I became a reporter in 2001, we were just wrapping up a slew of Phen-Phen cases. Just my honest opinion. I just wouldn't start taking a pill and then have to rely on it to continue to see any weight loss. I know that for some people, prescription or over-the-counter diet products have worked, but I am scared to death of them.

Ditto what mamaspank said - and, one apple all day is not enough to fuel your internal organs so you risk doing serious, permanent damage to them if you continue like that. But you will look very thin in your casket

This is a bad sign. Your body needs more fuel then just an apple even if you sit on your bum all day. Add in exercise and it makes the equation worse. I'd stop taking it, you need to eat.

Personally, I'm not a fan of anything that shuts down your bodies natural signals. Quick fixes, IMO, either don't work or are dangerous. I'd say this one falls in the dangerous category.

Yeah.. I know I need to eat.. Don't worry I forced myself to eat again..
but I wonder if I can teach myself to eat normal proportions.. and learn to eat food for nutrition and not for taste and comfort if this could be helpful...

Normally, even when I've eaten a TON of food, when I see something else... I start being hungry again...
Today, after I ate a small meal... I saw food and I didn't have the urge to devour everything in front of me...

But who knows if when I STOP taking.. and I haven't learned control I eat like crazy and gain it all back.. I don't know!

The other ladies have already said it, but you need to eat to lose weight. Our bodies need fuel to function, heal, and be strong. I am alarmed that there is something like this available. Not eating is unhealthy for many reasons.

So eat! Things like apples, broccoli, lean proteins of your choice, healthy fats, more veggies & fruit, whole grains....eat them in appropriate portions and move your body.

To learn to eat normal portions, eat normal portions! Sounds so easy right? 3 oz of protein is about the size of the palm of your hand. Use tablespoons to measure your peanut butter and olive oil. Are small meals even necessary though? Some of the maintainers make their salads in popcorn bowl---ginormous servings of romaine, carrots, bell peppers, tomatoes, radishes, zucchini, cauliflower, baby peas, etc., etc., etc.....It is possible to eat a large volume of food and still lose weight if the choices are healthy.

I hate being hungry too so I eat 6 times a day. It helps a lot! Good luck!
