Good morning.

I was actually able to start another thread. For some reason AOL won't let you copy and paste in a website but I'm on a 3 month freebie for another ISP.

It is very hot outside and its only 10:30. Its 92 and with the heat index, its 104. I wish I'd done my grocery shopping yesterday so I didn't have to do it today. Dh just finished mowing the back yard and he looks like a wet rag right now.

Teresa, good to see you again. Thats great you got your puter problems taken care of. I'd be lost without mine. Well, I suppose I could learn to live without it but I don't want to. When are you having that procedure done? I hope it solves your problems and it would be doubly nice if you didn't get anymore monthlys. I sure don't miss mine.

Skeeter, it just doesn't make sence to me what our insurance is doing. I know I'll never refer anyone to them again. I think I may of found a decent one and it should cost us less than what we are paying now. I wish I was brave enuff to try and coax a squirrel to take food from me. I don't know why, but I'm kinda scared of them, except from a distance. One day I went out to put an ear of corn on the feeder and this squirrel was probably about 2 feet away from it and he wouldn't move and me, being chicken, wouldn't go any closer till he moved. He was just waiting for me to put the new ear of corn on. Probably thought I was some crazy lady that likes to tease squirrels with corn.

Whew, I almost lost this page by hitting the wrong buttong. I'd of been so mad.

Marybeth, I called the State Insurance board and they said if its written in their underwriting (I'm not sure I said that right), theres nothing we could do. They said we could appeal and they may keep us but then we'd have the same problem next year. Its been really dry here and we may get some rain today. I've got my fingers crossed but I kinda think the rain will just by pass us. Good luck with your job hunting.

Well, I've got to make a grocery list so I'm going to scoot on out of here. Take care.

Hey Everyone

I hope everyone is doing good this weekend. I know that Marlana is preparing for a week with her grandchildren and will be away from the board for a while. It seems to be a busy year for everyone.

Teresa~Welcome back Girl, it sure is good to hear from you. I was on my computer for just a short time yesterday when it started storming and continued until bedtime. Then it was thundering again when we came out of the church today and just now let up enough to turn this thing on. My surge protector bit the dust and I can't take any chances in storms. The board is a little slower now but we are still there, we just don't write daily anymore. I hope that procedure works for you and that you feel better. Good luck with your weight loss and I am sure you will see results soon.

JoJo~You are having the same kind of weather there as we are except those high temps and high the humidity is what is causing these thunderstorms. I love them though. I have always been one of those weird people that enjoys storms as long as they aren't killing people and destroying things. I now have two squirrels taking peanuts from me and I think one of them is Miss Piggy. The other one was a little male squirrel which also could have been one that I raised except he started out so timid. Anyhow I had a friendly female that was very brave last year while I was raising those babies and it might be her. This morning my husband came into my bathroom while I was getting ready for church to tell me that I needed to get outside to feed those squirrels because they were trying to come in the house for me. I laughed because I thought he was kidding but that female was on the porch at the patio door looking for me. She had a young squirrel with her that was probably an offspring. I was very surprised because I have never fed any of the squirrels close to the house. The ones that I raised would come up like that though when they wanted fed sooner than I wanted to do it. It scares me for them to do that with this squirrel crazy dog that I have. I would really be sad if he killed a friendly one like that. I had a serious talk with him about the little squirrels but he continues to spend hours daily watching and chasing them. All the little squirrels come running when they hear my voice outside. It is starting to get a little expensive because more are showing up all the time.

I have a couple of things to do before evening services so I better go. Y'all have a good evening.

Hi Ladies,
How's it going? I'm doing okay; took my ex husband to the cleaners yesterday in court Actually I didn't say a word, the judge did it all. She told him to start paying me $50 a week (which is nothing, but nothing is what I've gotten for the last ten years), and he told her he just couldn't do it, it stressed him out to work; she told him it was going to stress him out even more to spend some time in the workhouse! She also told him not to ever try and change the parenting plan, because she would never approve it. Sooo, the old boy got mad and started yelling at her, and the bailiff escorted him to the elevator and out the door. Quite a day, quite a day. Maybe I'm done with him for a while, anyway.
Hope you all are doing okay---I'll try and write to everyone tomorrow--Teresa, so glad you got back here! My next door neighbor just had that procedure done last week, and she feels much better; she was a little tired and sore for a couple of days, but she's fine now; hope it goes real well for you.
Love you all, and I'll be back in the morning, just wanted to check in for a minute.

Hello Y’all

Well, only 4 more days and I'll be a lady of leisure Hubby has come up with a daily schedule for me...centers around cooking and the bed-room… I’ve told him that everyone should have a dream and this must be his. I’ve got so many resumes out that I got a large file to keep them all in alphabetical order. Sooner or later one has got to end-up in an interview and job offer. I’m not too worried about things. I’m eligible for unemployment immediately due to the fact that they are paying us a ‘restructuring bonus’ rather than ‘severance’. So, first thing Monday August 5th, or rather right after the mammogram, I’ll be heading to the unemployment office to file for my benefits.

I still can’t get myself back OP, but after the Bee [Longaberger convention] I will for sure. I plan to get my exercise in the first thing every morning and I figure starting the day that way has to be motivation to stay OP. Hope so anyway. Weight stayed the same when I went to WW on Friday, which is fine by me. Believe me when I say I’m not going back to the way I was. I’ve worked too hard and come too far to do anything else but to monitor myself for the next couple of weeks and really get OP after the first of August. I WILL REACH GOAL! Even if it takes me as long as it did to loose the first 60 lbs.

Sally, I'm glad the Judge really gave it to your ex, Lord knows he got what was coming to him for sure.

Well got to finish and mail tonight-another application for one of the counties here around Richmond that’s looking for a Budget Analyst.

Later,

Marybeth

Hi there.

Not much going on around here. I've just been checking ebay for beads. I've got a couple bracelets I've got to make this week for birthday presents for my 2 nieces whose birthdays are 2 days apart. I think they are definetly old enuff to not expect presents anymore, one will be 26 and the other 29 but we are invited to their parties so...I'll just make them a bracelet.

Things are going pretty good at work. I came to the conclusion that even tho I don't care for 2 of the women I work for, I was still looking for their friendship and believe it or not, I've gotten past it. I no longer wait for them when its time to leave at night. They seldom waited for me. I just feel much better about this now and it really irks me that I was trying to fit in with them. Who needs friends like them? Not me. I hardly speak to them at all except about work stuff. I just feel alot less stressed right now and my feelings arent hurt either.

I'm still just as busy as I was but I'm getting much more organized than I was before and that really helps. Its been hard trying to stay on top of things but I do manage to finish stuff by the deadline.

Sally, oh your poor poor ex!!!! Dang, the judge saw right thru him. It will be really interesting to see if he starts paying you. The poor sap sounds like the type who will blame his poor existance on you tho so I'm sure you'll hear plenty from him. He makes me sick and I don't even know him. I just don't understand a man who thinks he doesn't have to financially help in raising his own children. Is is living with his parents? I'm surprised they let him get away with his crap. I'd of booted his hiney out the door a long time ago.

Skeeter, We finally got some rain last night, 3/10th of an inch but thats better than nothing. They are saying we may get more rain this week and I've got my fingers crossed. And the past 3 days have been downright miserable with this humidity and high temps. When its like that, I stay indoors most of the time. The humidity is down today and its in the mid 80's so its much better today. Its to bad the squirrel babies didn't have some kind of markings that would help you recognize them. Maybe that timid one is Miss Piggy's boyfriend. That would be neat if it was Miss Piggy.

Marybeth, I'm glad you are getting some kind of severance pay and will also be able to draw unemployment. They are saying that there are so many people taking the early retirement package that it will probably cut down on the amount of people they have to lay off. I still have a big fear of losing my job. Hopefully my senority will be a help to me. But also with all these people who are retiring, who will do their jobs. They say they are only planning to fill half of them.

Well, I'd better get going. Marlana, hope you are having a good time with the kiddies. Take care everyone.

Talking

Hey Everyone

I was in the middle of writing a post this afternoon and the power went off and I lost it. I should have paid more attention to that distant thunder that I was hearing. I got used to having a good surge protector with a battery backup that gave me time to save everything and shut this thing down the right way. I need to pay more attention to the weather now that my surge protector went to the bone yard. We have had thunder storms every day this week which has kept me off this thing a lot.

Marlana~I have worked all week getting ready to have my two grandkids here. I think that I am just about ready for them now. I went grocery shopping on Tuesday and was looking in sections that I don't normally pay any attention to. I couldn't believe all the junk that is being sold to serve children. Colored taco chips, chocolate French fries........not in my house. I had to eliminate food coloring in my children's diets when they were young so I don't think that I will feed that stuff to my grandkids. I'm glad that they favor fruit over candy and love salads.

Sally~I am so glad that you got a good judge this time that was able to see what a jerk your ex is. That first one must have been a real idiot to let him get by without paying any support for this long. Did he go to jail for contempt of court after yelling at the judge? I hope that he leaves you alone from now on. you might want to save those emails in case you have to get a restraining order against him. I might have to get some advice from you while I have my grandkids. I have to get them up, feed them and get them off to vacation bible school every day while they are here. I haven't done that in about 15 years. Do you think that it is like, that you don't forget how?

Marybeth~Enjoy those days of leisure while you can. You are probably going to get hit with several job offers at the same time just as you get into staying at home. I am also having a hard time getting back into journaling. I just had a couple of bad days and now am eating okay but not writing it down. We know how those points can add up fast if we don't keep track of them.

JoJo~Did you find a better insurance company for your home? I have been telling everyone that I know about Nationwide and what they did to you. I fired Allstate for auto coverage several years ago for being as foolish. When I got divorced, I received a new policy that was higher. I called them to see why and was told it was because I was single and would be running around more in my car. I laughed as I told them to stick it where the sun don't shine. I joined State Farm and we are still with them. My husband has been with them since the early 70's and I hired them in the mid 80's. I am afraid to change companies because of all the nightmare stories that I have heard from people. We know what we will get with our company.

Luckymom~At least you aren't giving up and are still trying. You just have to keep trying until you find a system that works for you. These boards are a great place to get help and support. We would be glad to help you if we can and to listen and support you.

I think that I will be able to get this one posted. Y'all have a good evening and I will try to stay in touch while I have the kids. Oh yeah, my gingers are blooming and I wanted you to see one of the plants. I also have these in a lavender and a dark wine color.

Hello Everyone~~I'm back from the camping trip and so tired still I can hardly wiggle. I've been working all day today to get all the things I got behind on while I was gone. A lot of towels to wash and dry. I don't even want to talk about what I ate while I was gone. All I will say is kids want to eat all the time!!! I will get the kids back on Sunday evening for a couple of days. Can't say I'm looking forward to it at all.
JoJo~~The heat is on here, up around a 100 today. I hate it when it's that hot. I've been watering all day and I will set it to water for 4 hours tonight. I scanned through all your post and didn't fine out if you got some more insurance or not. Did you find some? Glad you've found out you don't need the friend ship of the two ladies you work with.
Well I didn't make it through with the post today, I'll be back tomorrow. I cannot stay awake. I'm sorry. Marlana

Hi everyone,

This is a quick post as I've got some things to do before we have to go to my niece's bd party in awhile.

Marlana, no we haven't picked a new insurance yet, we're waiting to hear a final quote from one I'd like to go with. Its got to be done quickly cause we've got till 8/24 to finalize everything. I hope you are resting up today. No, I can't imagine you are all that anxious to get the kids back tomorrow night.

Skeeter, wow, those flowers are so pretty. They look so tropical. I'd like a tropical garden but I don't think they'd grow well here. I'd love to see a picture of the dark wine ones you mentioned. I'm so glad you are passing it around about Nationwide. I posted on another board without mentioning the name of the insurance and someone else wrote that they were canceled because of their dog to. We had Allstate years ago and they are way to expensive. We are waiting on a quote from one called Erie. So far they've been the most resonable, less than what we are paying now and they have a really good reputation.

Hey Luckymom, glad you posted with us. Some of us are following food plans and some of us are dreaming of getting back on a plan and sticking with it. You mentioned being h2o challenged, well, I'm exercise (gag) challenged lately and I used to love to pop my taebo tape in and work up a good sweat. I did buy another tape that I'd like to try out soon. Exercise is the key and I think one of the best forms of exercise with light weight training. It tones you much faster. Come back and tell us more about yourself and a big welcome to you.

Well, I'm going to get out of here. Take care everyone.

Ok...I'm back again. I'll see if I can finish this before something else happens to stop me. I intended to get in here this morning and write. But I got my plans changed real quick. Hubby's Mommy Dearest called me and said she would be here Sunday afternoon. Great! Just what I needed was for her to come right now. I hadn't been home for days and I had to set in can clean everything. I'm not finished yet. I guess the kids and I will sleep in the RV tomorrow night. It will be the best anyway. I can take them out there and he and his Mommy can enjoy them selves. I still don't have all the cleaning done. I also have got to go and buy groceries too. Wish I had something to fill all this extra time I have on my hands. Do I sound like I'm in a bad mood, I am.

Marybeth~~Good to hear from you. I hope you land yourself a good job soon. Like I said the last time I was here, I don't even want to talk about food. Mine is off the map out of control. I'll have to fix a big dinner tomorrow. We found out just today that our daughter was still in Okla. City as of a couple of months ago. I feel sorry for her, she must be one of the most unhappy people I know, to pull a stunt like this one. Out of my hands though. Get that husband lined out. Mine is going to get the shock of his life when he retires. I am no longer going to build my life around him. I'm going to bed when I want to and get up when I want to.

Skeeter~~We haven't had rain in so long I don't remember what it looks like. It keeps me busy just trying to water everything from the garden to the flowers. I also have to water the house. That's right the house. We rocked this house a few years ago and when it gets dry the dirt cracks away from the foundation and if we don't water it, it could cause the rocks to crack. I've got my back in those rocks so I water the darn house. I didn't enjoy the camp out, but I can tell you I was more than ready for it to be over. I felt like I needed a week by myself to recover. Of course I didn't get it. I still don't have the ice box emptied out. I need to do that here in a little bit. I guess you will have your grand kids next week won't you? Good luck! What the heck is a cho. French fry??? You know those cho chip cookies I baked, those kids hardly touched them. They thank a cookie has to come out of a package. Give you one guess who ate a bunch of them.

Teresa~~ So glad to see you back. Sounds like you've been having a rough time of it. Hang in there on the food plan, it will pay off in the long run. I'm not even going to try to get back on one until Monday. Too darn much going on here. Welcome back girl.

Sally~~YOU GO JUDGE. Sounds like it must have been a great day for you. I would have like to of been there. He must be a real winner.

Luckymom1~~You just keep on plugging away trying to get your act together. This is not easy. But it isn't over until you quit trying. Your welcome to join in with us and keep on trying. We'll support you the best we can.

Well ladies I thank I got through with a post finally. Now I'm going out and jump in the pool. Doesn't that sound nice. It is, but I'm taking a brush with me because Algae got a really good start while I was gone and I've got to brush it lose from the sides. Hope everyone is having a good week end.

Hi everyone. I was reading your posts and was enjoying all the stories of your lives. I was wondering can I join in the fun? My bio is this...
I am 29, married, we have 2 boys (7 & 8), and 2 girls (6 & 11 going on 20). I attend college part time and 3/4 time while kids are in school. I also work at the college part time while attending. I usually work in the summer doing seasonal work testing cotton but the season is running a little behind. I am a big volunteer at our childrens school.
I have not always been overweight but once I had my first child was when I ballooned from 120 to 200. Since then my weight has only gone down as low as 175 and as high as 265(pregnant). I am 5.3 on a bad day and shoot for 5.4 on a good day. Without a pregnancy my highest weight was 225 last September. My current weight is 202.5. I have been using Slim Fast and regular daily exercise to get my weight to come down. My goal is to be at 200 by the end of the month. Be at 190 by September 1. Then ultimately be at 150 by my 30 th birthday in April. My exercise varies between yoga, aerobics, walking, stepper, ab roller, and a twister. Sometimes my day can have a mix of some or all.

Well there isn't much more to tell about me. I will be interested in reading more posts in the days to come. Bye.

Kina~~Boy your as busy as I am, maybe more so. However we are doing different things. Girl you have got a very good start to getting rid of the excess pounds. And I might say a great attitude and plan to finish the job. At your age I got on a very serious plan for life. I weight about 176 pounds and I decided that I was going to take the weight off by my birthday or I was going to except myself as I was. By grapy I wish I weighed 176 now. Needless to say my plan did not work. Girl I'm here to try and support you in geting to your goal by your birthday. You can do it, you can do it. Focus Focus Focus. And don't ever give in or up. And welcome to our group, we are very pleased to have you here.

Thanks for the warm welcome Marlana. Wow pictures and all. My goodness I feel very special. Well thank you so much for the motivating message. I feel very positive about this time around. This is the first time I have been so determined and actually get the weight to come...slowly but it is coming off.

Last night I got my workout with the stepper/twister and I also got my yoga in. I hadn't done my yoga in a few days. I plan to get my aerobics back into a routine.

Yesterday my mom bought an exercise machine...I think it is an elliptical machine. I have been wanting to get one of those but they are beyond my spending money. But she found this one for only $35 at a garage sale. She doesn't know if it is a elliptical machine but the way she describes it I think it is. I can't wait. I am going to go over to workout and I am too excited about it. Crazy person here watch out coming through. I never thought I would be so pumped about exercising.

I have to go DH is waiting on me to get my butt dressed so that we can go. Lots of positive thoughts to all of you. Thanks for welcoming me to the thread.
