Default I know that all might not agree here's my plan

I have a plan to get myself back on track. I know all might not agree with what I am going to do. (Alli) but I think It maybe the key to getting me started. So please be kind.

Here's my plan.
I will start reading The Beck Diet book. In the past it really helped me stay focused on when I ate and it's triggers.

I will log my food with my WW Pure Points Software. I will be doing WW once again but tweak it a bit. Keep it Lower fat

I will start taking Alli Pills - This is a huge key since I find if I tell my family and friends I'm on it they don't offer me food, bring it over or get mad when I say I can't meet them at a resterant. I have tried to explain to them in the past and present that I can't go/eat this or that and they say order a salad. Well I can have a healthier salad at home. I also know there will be way to much food porn going on by others around me and I'm just not strong enough to deal with it. So this will give me the extra nudge to stay away from off plan food and to keep others from offering. I actually had great sucess with Alli in the past and I didn't have any problems with nasty side effects. Like I said it's a key to get me once again on the right track.

Now fitness is something that I struggle with daily and it will only improve once I get use to it again.

I've also picked up few CDs made by Provida the CD are called The Smart Technique automantic fat loss program. I picked these up at the good will. If anyone has feed back on these please share. I guess they are based on Deep relaxation. I haven't listened one yet just seen there is warning not to drive and listen to them of play them where anyone else can hear while driving.

I've been going kinda Good Will nuts picking up books, fitness DVDs and such in search to find something that will give me that nudge to really kick it once again. Thanks once again for reading my ramblings.

I've thought of Alli before. I just don't like the side-effects if you happen to eat something with fat in it... heh.
Good luck.

Good luck Mez. You just do what you need to in order to get back on track, don't worry about what we think .

The Beck diet has some followers here at 3FC, not sure where they post, but it might be under the general plan section.

Remember that Alli is really useless if you are already doing a low fat diet, since it blocks about 20% of the fat (if I remember correctly) - so you might find that you don't really see much from it.

Logging your food and exercising is a great path to get moving on -

Mez,

We all have to experiment to find out what works for each of us and it is good to write down a plan and try to stick with it. I don't know anything about the Beck diet but good luck with that. Also, you may find yourself not needing Alli after a while once you get on your plan (if your plan is low fat).

It is nice to see you have a plan again. Nothing wrong with the alli at all as long as you stay under the fat per meal you can have. I know a great many people, there are quite a few right here on this site, that use alli and it has worked very well for them. From what I have been able to understand there are no side effects at all if you stay within the alloted amounts of fat and you don't already have any kind of tummy problems. Good luck with that. I don't know anything about the Beck plan but as long as it combines enough of the food groups to give you a healthy eating plan I say give it a try and give yourself time to really see if it is going to work. You will find if you are going to stay pretty much low or even lower fat in your eating you aren't going to need the alli. Nice idea even when you stop taking it to, not lie but not tell those around you that you aren't taking it anymore. You are very right, they aren't going to offer you things you shouldn't have while on the alli lol.

Luvja – I tried Alli when it 1st came out. I found it worked great. Since it kept people from bugging me to eat this or that and it made me strong enough to say no. I was terrified of the treatment effect and still am. So it keeps me honest. I can’t cheat. I had gall stones and had an operation back in March of last year so. The Alli bottle I had had expired which was still more full than empty. I come from a huge family 7 sister and 5 brothers so food is a big part of get togethers. My sister will also call and ask to meet for lunch, breakfast or whatever. Some are better than others at me declining offers. So all I have to say is I am on Alli and they say ok. No begging or hurt feelings. I will ONLY be taking this until I’m strong at with my WL plan.

Fiberlover – I have to say it again. Girl you’re awesome and I’m so very proud of you!! WTG on your weight loss!!
I was part of the Beck group back in March and it is filled with lost of wonderful people. I guess I’m afraid to show my sorry bum back there. They even had a cute fitness name for me. 8 mile mez. I lol at it now since I can’t seem to get my bum up to walk 1. I’m such a disappointment. I know that the Alli I will be taking will be pretty useless for me as far as my fat grams. I just need it as a tool to keep others from trying to feed me. Like I stated above I say Alli and they go away. They can be so pushy.

Nelli – What can I say you’ve been the voice of wisdom since I very 1st found this site. I can’t even begin to thank you for all the wisdom you have given to others and my self. You have opened to the door to many foods I never thought I’d try. Chickpeas for one. I had no desire to ever try them until I read you praise them. They are now a regular part of my diet and my family loves them as well! I know once I can stand my ground I’ll no longer need Alli. I know it’s like flushing money down the toilet. I look at as I would be wasting money on eating out so it adds up. I can get many calls from different sisters during the week. Even if I say I don’t have money they paid so that doesn’t work. Thanks for taking time to write.

GirlyGilrSebas – It does! I finally think I am starting to get the ball rolling.

Shy Moment – Hey I haven’t chatted with in a long time. WTG on the WL! Your right there is no treatment effect if you stay on you low fat plan. I checked with my doctor and she said as long as I’m back to normal potty wise. I’m given the green light. I won’t be letting anyone know when I stop taking it. Some things are best left unsaid. I like your quotes. I’ve also moved my goals down to 5 lbs. It use to be 10 but that seems too big for me right now. 5lbs loss seems so much more doable.

Athletic Will Be – Thanks for the encouragement. Being able to find healthy food is getting so much easier than when I 1st started and it is continuing to grow. I love the new label system on food now. It so much easier to make better choices. LOL love the move ticker move saying with the smiley. Very cute!

Thanks everyone for posting it really helps.

Mez - Welcome back!! I think the Alli thing is great, especially if it works for you! I look forward to see you exercising, which is where I've mainly seen you, you were a great motivation for me, so thank you

I have to admit I also feel the stigma off taking "diet" pills, I started taking a new one today and I hadn't told anyone.. not even my boyfriend! I finally did tell him tonight, mostly because he saw me taking this horse pill and wondered what the heck it was for. Sometimes its hard to admit that I need the help.. if this one works at all.. it's like I think I should be able to do this with no help at all. Anyways, I'm just rambling! Glad to see you back Mez!

Lol, food porn... genius... just genius.

I know nothing about Alli, or the Beck program- but you should be happy to know that I just spit my coffee all over my lap top from laughing at your quirky choice of words.

Mez - You are too kind. Honestly, anything that helps you get on plan isn't flushing money down the toilet. When I go off plan and try to get back on plan its tough and I'd be willing to pay money to get back on plan.

planning on a plan is the best way to go -- get you in the right mindset and whatnot!

for me when i would "start a diet", Atkins was my weapon of choice because i could count on a 10lbs drop in about 10 days LOL, and that would give me the motivation to get going, so whatever works for ya!!

p.s FOOD PORN is my new favourite expression. Ever.

Good luck Mez! When I started last year, I bought/borrowed (from library) anything I could get my hands on to read about weight loss. I got good tips, and continue to buy my favorite magazines (Fitness, Shape, and Self) for circuit training moves, recipes, etc.

SwimGirl – I’m very happy to read that I motivated you because each of you motivated me into given it that extra mile. (No pun intended) You have also inspired me with insight on plans and your humor. I had to lol because if someone seen me taking a horse pill and it was diet I’d say it was a calcium pill. Those things can be huge! I know what you mean about I should be able to do this on my own. Here’s how I looked at it. With me it’s the Alli pill. I know I should be able to say no to my sisters and pass on all that food porn. But I can’t something isn’t in me yet to stand my ground. I don’t have a problem with sweets foods. (Thank goodness) It’s the high fat stuff so the only way I see to push myself is to take Alli since that means low fat and you can’t lie to that kind of pill without a very disgusting reminder never to do that again. So IMO if that pill your taking gives you the courage, hope, or whatever that is going to make something inside you click. I see nothing wrong in taking it. I’ve read your post and I know that you know what a proper and healthy meal consist of. I have faith that if you take that pill you will be eating healthy and soon it will be gone. You’ll find your way and I’m here to help you.

xYourBelleMortex – I wish I could say I coined the food porn phrase. But I can’t. Darn
It is a genius phrase. So fitting.

Nelli – Too kind not even a drop in the bucket.

Trazey34 – Wow 10 lbs in 10 days!! I’d fall on the floor. I’m a turtle when it comes to WL. Very impressed. When one writes of all these goodies that are temping them food porn can really sum it up. It is one awesome expression.

Oopik – So you’re the one checking out all those WL books at the library! Hehe I can never seem to get them. I’m waiting on YOU ON A DIET? I think it’s spelled with all caps so not yelling. I hear it’s a good book. Circuit training one of my future goals to try. Do you work out at home or at a gym? The thing that has kept me away from it is our gym has very odd hours and I hear it’s crowded and hard to get on the machines. I don’t need someone breathing down my neck while I’m trying to figure it out let alone do a rep. Thanks for the good luck wish.

*NOTE* On those CDs I chatted about at the start. I tried one last night at bedtime.(This one was about fighting Cravings) It’s a hypnotic type of program. I found myself fighting not to go under. Since I had not listen to it I didn’t want them to say something creepy like if you eat a candy bar your going to picture it’s a finger. I read once that someone was doing that kind of thing and it had a horrible effect on this person and not just with candy bars. The cd turned out fine and I don’t recall anything creepy. I guess I didn’t put up that big of fight. We will see how I handle my cravings today.

Hey Mez. I have been doing my circuit training at home in my living room. I keep track of the time by keeping an eye on the clock on my DVD player. I like to get outdoors for a run or walk, but if the weather`s too nasty I will do a DVD or video in my living room too. I haven`t been going to the gym because I couldn`t afford one, but I am hoping to join one this fall as the cold weather sets in. I want to be able to continue my running on a treadmill (I am not one of those diehards I see out running and walking when it`s -40 with the windchill!) and do more strength training, and the gym will have better equipment than I do for that.
