I got a new foster this weekend...surprise! I'm a volunteer with Noble Shepherd Rescue, non-profit German Shepherd rescue group. We had a pretty girl sitting in local Animal Control another rescue group was interested in. At their request, I had gone out on Thursday, visited the shepherd to evaluate her. I sent a very positive report with the caution that the Animal Control had already had her over the five-day limit, and, if no one came to pick her up, she would be gassed on Monday.

She was picked up as a stray - no collar, no tags, no microchip, no tatoos - and at least 20 pounds underweight.

I checked on our girl Friday morning; nobody had heard a thing. I did some quick calling and emailing to discover that although she had a family waiting to adopt her, her new home is in NY state and won't be ready for her for three weeks.

I made some quick preparations at my house, called Animal Control and went to pick her up. Took her to the vet, got lots of shots and tests, brought her home, gave her a bath on the deck, fed her a yummy dinner, took her for a walk - and then she and I fell asleep on my bed - happy girls! I'll have her for three weeks, and then "Cookie" will be on her way to her forever home.

She's a sweetie - well-mannered, knows basic obedience, quick to please, friendly and attentive. So my weekend has a really happy ending - and I was too busy to cheat!

I've had a great weekend. I've been away from home and had a few small cheats here and there, but I still kept on loosing over the weekend.

And, I've been here for 20 days, so now I can have a signature!

Went to a birthday party last night and did well. Granted I did have some bites of cake...but still am down 5 lbs from where I was a month ago which I consider success!!

Hey Sandy...sounds like you have your hands full. I am actually on the board of a 501c3 pug rescue here in Florida. I have pugs in and out of my house faster than I can count. This year has been terrible here in Florida, with the ecomony,etc. Hopefully someday it will get better. There are 4 rescues in our state and the combined numbers in foster homes is well over 100! UGgg!

I hate mondays! Hope everyone had a successful weekend!!!

I did pretty well. I lost .8 pounds. It is a little harder to stay on task over the weekend, since we go out to eat on Friday, but I did well.

BlondeAmbition, did you lose 19 pounds in 20 days?! That's amazing!

That would have been amazing and also a bit worrying, but no, I started in the beginning of July.

I'm so pleased. My ladybug scurried down another three pounds...it's hard to be patient. I'd like to lose much faster than I gained! Celebrate Monday for a change.

WAY TO GO!!!!!

I know that we can take it off faster than we put it on. I just have to look at each day like the first. It just kills me when 2-3-4 months have past I have done nothing to lose weight when by that time I could be down 20-30lbs. The hardest part is just staying motivated and keeping in your mind, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
