Question Anyone interested in a Couch to 5 K challenge?

I have seen alot of talk about this Couch to 5 K. I really want to start it. I do better on things when there are a group of people doing the same thing as me and going through some of the same things. I think we all struggle with motivation and exercise....this could definately be a challenge to help with both of those things....

a little summary about this plan if you haven't heard much about it.....

It is a 9 week program that is designed to get you from sitting on the couch in a sedintary lifestyle to jogging/running 5 K in 30 - 35 minutes in 9 weeks....It starts off pretty simple and progresses each week.

Now....each week the program only suggests that you do the suggested workout for 30 minutes a day 3 times a week.....that is it!!! I think we could do it as often as we want as long as we do it 3 times a week....Now I think we all can handle that!!

I'm definitely interested in starting it. Would this be something we would start in the next couple of weeks?

What area of TN are you from? I moved to SC only about 2 years ago, I grew up in east TN and my husband is from west TN. I love it there, but we like it here too (it's just not home).

Count me in! I just started running last week, as I had heard about the c25k, but had no-one to do it with. Somebody posted a reminder that 'the' c25k was starting the next day, but I couldn't find an actual thread about it, and when I asked her, she suggested I google it, so I think it was something independent of 3FC. I did print off the info, so I have it to refer to.
**One question, do you know what the "podcasts" are? Is that something I can download to my i-pod?

I'm from west TN....about 45 min to an hour east of Jackson....I'm right on the TN river! Small world!

I would like to start the couch to 5 K program on Monday August 4th...that way we are starting at the beginning of the week.....everyone who chooses to participate in the challenge will be able to do the minimum 3 x a week or more if they like!!

I think this is a great way to make us all stronger!

I'm not sure what a podcast is...I know the guidelines for this program are posted on the link in the first post

I figure Aug 4th I will start the first thread....Couch to 5 K --> Week 1
and I will post the requirements for week 1....then everyone who wants to participate and give and get support, talk about problems they may be having...or maybe how it is easier than they thought? Everyone would post when they complete their first week and if they are going to do more than the 3 days or not.....then we will go to week 2 and then week 3 etc....

Just passing along the info...it is very good..he tells you when to run and when to walk along with playing techno type music.
