Default Webcam from the Far North!

Here you go, Mel! This morning all you'll see is WET and this early, our poor little department pickup sitting by itself. Anyone who's looking should remember that Alaska is 4 hours earlier than east coast of US, one hour earlier than west coast. Enjoy!

I see you're in SLC now, where are you from? The webcam is mounted on the Palmer Library.

I'm in SLC for the rest of the summer, but then I fly back to Anchorage and I can't WAIT! I'm going to UAA. All of my boyfriends' family are out in the valley though, (well, he's native, so he's got some family out in the villages but we of course never see them) so we drive back out to Palmer/Wasilla every other weekend or so

40 days left!!

Well, enjoy the sun in SLC - there's been precious little of it here this summer!

Oh man, thank goodness for the "warm-up".

My mother and littlest brother have been stuck in Fairbanks for 2 and a half weeks because it's been too cold to fly out to their village (out past Fort Yukon). The temps finally got into the -40s over the weekend, and so my family has just been waiting on standby.

Joys of Alaskan winter ;>

Oh yes, Zen, still very cold in the interior. We've warmed up to 10 above this morning, but windy so it still feels cold. Snow predicted as well.

Kaebea - well, it'll be nice and light, and not as cold, but we've had some pretty severe snowstorms in March in the past. What part of Alaska? If it's SE, ignore what I've just said.

As much as I gloat about being outside during the winter, you do (absurdly) miss it.

Christmas at positive 65 degrees is just not the same.
