Talking Day 1... halfway through...

So far, so good. I just had a major temptation, but I beat it My kids ate some bananas... I love bananas. Instead of eating one though, I made a quickie salad (lettuce, ranch & pepper)! Very tasty! I think I am gonna be able to do this, guys! I did my work-out today, for the first time... talk about worn out! I enjoyed it though. I also did my 100 pushups thing and rode my exercise bike some. Along with that, I also intend to walk today at 5pm when my friend gets here! If only I can stay this motivated forever, I'll be good to go! Go me!

Just a simple question -- do carb counters have to deprive themselves of bananas?

Bananas are extremely high in carbs (51g) vs. dietary fiber (6g), thus giving you a whopping 45 grams of net carbs from a single banana. While I don't believe a single banana during maintenance is going to throw you completely out of whack, they are definitely NOT allowed during induction, when you are limited to 20 carbs per day.

The sweet thing about Atkins is...the longer you are on it...the LESS restrictive it is.

Personally, I HATE bananas A medium banana has 24 net carbs...even if I liked them, I 'd eat them very occasionally.

I was just curious. I'm glad there are a myriad of diet and fitness programs to follow. I don't know that I could give up bananas let alone carbs!

You ladies are stronger than me.

Kim, I couldn't help but check out your before and after pictures. WOW!!! You look fantastic.

Thank you LeeAnne

I'd like to say, doing Atkins does not mean you "give up carbs". We on Atkins eat carbs...but...just the "good carbs"....veggies, salads, nuts, certain low carb fruits, and contrary to popular belief, even whole grains such as brown rice & oatmeal

All the best to you!!
