Default Trying to find the motivation to start again..

Hi ladies! I found this site in 2006 and used it for support and information. I had lost 35 or so pounds and felt so much better about myself. I felt so much better and my PCOS was doing so well that I had a beautiful daughter who is now 17 months. However, I lost my mind as soon as that stick turned b/c I ran right to the carbs! Now, here I am feeling miserable about my weight. I feel guilty b/c I know how to change it but I just can't get myself motivated. I gave away my book and intend to buy it again.

On top of that though, I am going through a divorce. I have two children and we have moved back in with my mother. The convenience of the gym went away when I moved and that was a big part of my plan.

I really don't know why I am posting this... I just need to get motivated. *sigh*

Welcome back, DJETT! It doesn't seem like all that long ago you were here! Congratulations on your new little girl, but I'm sorry that your marriage didn't work out. Perhaps it's all for the best.
If you are even thinking about starting SBD again, you're making a step in the right direction. Now, go out and stock the kitchen with the foods you know you'll need, and just take a deep breathe and take the plunge! The first few days are the hardest, but once you have them behind you, I think you'll find that motivation you need to stay on track again. As for the gym, I've discovered the wonderful world of "at home" exercise videos, especially the WATP workouts. They're great, there's nothing "wimpy" about them, and you can do them in the comfort of your home at your leisure. Good luck to you, and here's a little to help you along!

back. I remember your face smiling face! Congrats on the new wee one and sorry about your marriage situation. Sometimes things are just not meant to be.

It seems to me you already have found the fist step to getting motivated since you came back and posted! Ease into it and come here a lot for support and motivation. For general clucking, please join us in the Daily Chat thread.

You can do it!

I can imagine how you are struggling right now, caring for 2 young ones, and not having your husband to lean on anymore. Maybe SB is just want you need right now. A part of your life you can take control of. Tell yourself that this will make you feel so much better both physically and mentally.

Write back to let us know how you are doing!

Welcome back, Dana. I remember you from before. I've had some of the same issues myself. I've gained back some of the weight and I'm currently going through a very difficult contested divorce. I am lucky though that I only have one son and he's a fifth grader. I, too, have found it hard to make it to the gym now that I am a single mom.

I think we need to consider our kids as our motivation. I know that I want to be there to see Brian grow up and I want to be able to do physical things with him. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk offline.

Welcome back. Remember just like the other chicks have said you have made the big step in the right direction. You can do it, because you are going to do it for you first then you kids. There is a new book out called supercharged SBD, so if you are buying a new one that may be the one to get. Take care and good luck. Remember we are all here for you.

If you are familiar with SBD and had already read the book, I'd skip buying another one and just use the updated lists here at the FAQ site. We have the old book and we both grazed through it when restarting, but we already knew what to do/what to eat & what to avoid. I find the SBD cookbook more helpful than the original book. BUT...the majority of recipes I have, came from here and I use them over and over.
Welcome back! Best wishes for your family struggles. I'm glad your mom is able to help you. As far as exercise, walking can hardly be beat. It is free and can be done anytime, even with the kiddos in a stroller.
