Default This week's healthiest food - Garlic

I love Garlic. I use it a lot in recipes, almost everything I make has garlic in it. Although I usually don't make it a main flavor in dishes.

This week we celebrate the unique flavor of garlic. It is guaranteed to transform any meal into a bold, aromatic and healthy culinary experience. Garlic is an indispensable addition to almost all cuisines throughout the world. Not only does it add bold and interesting flavor to your favorite savory recipe, it also provides a wealth of health-promoting benefits, such as reducing the risk of heart disease, lowering cholesterol levels and balancing blood sugar levels. So include a little garlic in your meal as a great way to add extra flavor and nutrition to your Healthiest Way of Eating!

oooooohhhhh, garlic!!

No matter what I am making, if I throw some garlic in it, the entire family will poke their heads in the kitchen at some point to check out what we're having for dinner.

I am on a roasted asparagus/chopped garlic/red pepper flakes kick.

I love roasted garlic. Gotta be a true garlic lover for that one, but it's sooo good. Once roasted, the garlic cloves become spreadable. You can just squeeze the garlic out of the cloves onto some hot bread and voila! Lowfat garlic bread. Don't need butter with this stuff because the garlic itself spreads.

Absolutely fantastic, if not an acquired taste. I've heard even acclaimed garlic lovers say they can't handle the taste of pure, fresh roasted garlic.

I'm on a major kick right now (my poor fiance). I have gone through a couple of bulbs a week lately, ever since I discovered that I can grate it instead of mincing it (duh!). I start off with some garlic and spices, then throw in a box of mushrooms, some wild rice, some petite diced tomatoes and some spinach at the very end. Simple, but yummy and VERY garlicky

I heart garlic!

I absolutely LOVE garlic. We go through several bulbs a week around here. My whole family loves it.

I use it in stir-fries. Salad dressings. Chicken dishes. Fish. Guacamole. Soups. Roasted with veggies.

LLV, we love roasted garlic around here. It's so easy too.

Good stuff.

That's funny, the flavor of roasted garlic is a lot milder than raw garlic. I wasn't too crazy about garlic before, nobody in my family really liked it so I grew up with very little in my food.

Now that I cook I add minced garlic into the food, but I buy the bottles of already minced garlic. For some reason too much garlic in food bothers my stomach.

Roasted garlic doesn't bother me at all, I absolutely love it. I use it in homemade hummus and it's delicious. I personally think roasting the garlic brings out the sweetness and makes it milder.

Milder, yes, but it's a different flavor altogether, so perhaps they didn't like it because it wasn't what they were expecting. Not sure.
