Default Quick question

How do you calculate how many calories your supposed to eat in a day? I went to this website and it said I'm supposed to be eating 2240-2363 calories a day. That sounds like alot doesn't it?

One more question. When I look up calories for lunch meat it's all measured in oz and I don't have a scale. Does anyone know a different way to add up lunch meat calories or how many slices are in an ounce?

Lightbulb Hope this helps

Most packaged lunch meats will tell you how many slices are in 1 serving size and then tell you how many ounces that is. For example, a favorite of mine says that 4 slices equals 1 ounce which equals 60 calories. They are thinly sliced.

I make sure that I also buy those that are lean and less fat. I have had no trouble finding these kinds of healthy lunch meats in major grocery stores.

If you decide to go to the deli and have them cut you your meat you can ask them to measure out how much you want and how many they would consider is in an ounce. I worked in a supermarket deli many years ago and we had to weigh and measure everything very carefully. Our scales were fine tuned to a mega-ounce practically. If they say something you can take their word they know what they are talking about. It is their business to know.
