Default Hump Day Chat

I think it's officially spring! I woke before five which is my spring/summer usual time. I hate doing that on rainy days but sure enjoy it when we have nice weather. I'm aching to get some gardening started but it's still too wet out there to even think of raking. The dog yard has just one big drift of snow near the fence but Hershey is working on eating that to the ground.

This morning I'm off to the gym for 7:30 and then home for Donna by 9. We had a wee talk last week about reliability so she'd better show today. I hope to use her for some garden stuff later on as I'm still not supposed to lift and lug much. (The ortho dude told me I'm doing really well yesterday.)

Today is the tenth anniversary of my retirement! A good decision and an interesting ten years. It's also the 48th anniversary of my first wedding - a bad decision but an interesting 13 years! You win some and lose some.

Hershey tells me she needs her petting tank topped up so I'm going to take my coffee out onto the deck. It's only 33ºF but is going into the sixties today and tomorrow. Great weather for the weekend Syrup Festival.

Happy Hump Day!

Happy Humpday!

Amber is spending the morning with me, so I'll have to rush right back here after Curves. Her school is on spring break this week. I have a craft project planned for her to keep her busy. I'd keep her with me all day, but Audrey and Maggie will be busy with their dance lessons after school.

Did anyone watch The Biggest Loser last night? I really wanted Kelly to win, she's come a long way and looked great, but I was happy that Ali won. Most of the contestants looked amazing! I'm not sure if I'll watch the next season though, the show is so unrealistic to the average person, and I get so annoyed at it.

I had another clean day yesterday, let's see if I can make it 3 days in a row.

Have a safe trip to Florida, Kara!

Default Hump Day Chick Chat!

Good Morning all. Wow, with everything thats been going on I realized this morning I haven't popped in to see how all my friends here are doing! I'm so sorry and I miss you all.

Lets see, I have the new vinyl in the kitchen and bathroom and it looks amazingly different! Aaron has to come back to install it in the laundry area and put the molding on in the first two rooms. The kid that set up this thing never put on the paper work to stain the molding! What craziness! I mentioned it to him several times!

Now that I have my floor I've stepped up my job search, which as you know is very time laborous. I'm even considering moving to NC. My son hopes I get an offer down there cause he will be able to live here if they pay me for this place!

OK, so how about that Ali? We woman won it this time around! GO ALI! I was really hoping Kelly would win. She looks terrific and I believe she deserves the win. But Ali did lose the weight! I dont know, something about her seems off to me. Anyway! Did it surprise anyone that the longer one stayed on the ranch the more weight they lost (for the most part)? And here Mark was at the ranch the entire time and still had a chance for the 100K. I'm so glad bernie won and not Mark! HHMMM, geez, I sure have gotten into it after the couples ended and they were in it for themselves! LOL

Anyway, how are you all?

Oh, I forgot to mention, Joe leaves today to head to DC. He and the democratic club at college scheduled this trip long before the pope came. I had to laugh, asked him when he got religious! They will be there through Saturday, come home Sunday! Woot, 4 full days without him, I'll miss him! But I do hope he enjoys himself!

Good morning, Ruth. I can't believe you beat me to it again today!
Bundle up well before heading out on the deck, I'm content to enjoy my coffee indoors this morning. Happy anniversaries!

I guess all three of us were typing at the same time! (((hugs))) to you both! Ruth, I also am itching to do some gardening. Too bad I dont know what the **** I'm doing!@ LOL I really need to revamp my design. The garden was dug before I came here, and I really am not sure I like it. Oh well. Retirement? I only wish!

Linda, enjoy your time with Amber. I also believe the show is unrealistic in their weight loss! we all can not devote our entire lives to lose the weight we need, no, we need to do it outside our busy work schedules. It's extra bad when you have a desk job that bores you. Not sure about you all but I've noticed I eat from boredom!!!!!!!!!!

Morning all!!
Happy 10th anniversary,Ruth...I can't wait to retire!..but it won't be any time soon. Both of my best friends are retired and I'm so envious of them!
Today is my anniversary also...started SB one year ago today (Last time I saw my Dad was 2 years ago today when I promised him I would lose the weight, so today is my "promise" day and I kept it!)

Cottage, I watched BL last night and was thrilled with Ali winning..either she or Kelly would have been fine with me. BUT...I'm wondering if Paul was really sick or did he just put all the weight back on. Enquiring minds want to know.

Nothing exiting happening for me. I am REALLY thinking about going back to teaching full time in the fall, so I may go talk to the principal today to see if they will have any openings in the fall. I am really tired of having no time for my own with my business and am ready to make a change...maybe.

Hey Lori and good morning...we were posting at the same time!

Hey femme, I was thinking the same thing about Paul!!!!!! He didn't seem to ever have it in him too lose, didn't have the desire. I think what he wanted was Kelley!!!!!!!

Good morning, Loriann! We were all busy pecking away at the same time.

We're all up bright and early today, Cat! Yes, I was thinking the very same thing about Paul, but I read in another thread that he really was sick. Who knows? But the way he ate when he went back home for that week makes me think he hasn't lost much.

Gooooooood morning! I thought I might be the first to post but alas, the chicks are up bright and early this morn! We're all packed and ready to go - leave for the airport in about an hour and then arrive in Florida this afternoon. I am so excited, there are butterflies in my belly! This whole separation thing really stinks, but it *is* nice to have reunions!!! I've got a pretty, past-the-knee length skirt, new short sleeve blouse, and new really comfy and just adorable brown, leather (I know, bad vegetarian, bad vegetarian!) sandals on and I even put on MAKE-UP! *That* happens about twice a year! My grandfather will be here in forty-five minutes and it will be a tight fit getting everything in his Passat, but at this point I'd leave a kidney behind if they told me I had to!

Linda, have fun with Amber this morning! Hope your craft project isn't too messy!

Ruth, happy anniversaries and good luck with getting some gardening time with Donna!

Loriann, glad to hear the floor went in well. Hope you get the finish on it soon!

Cat, good luck with the job situation. I hope they have the perfect opening for you!

I got the car delivered and checked in to the shipping company yesterday and they told me it would arrive in Germany by the date we get there, so as long as we pass our drivers' tests we'll be good to go! I've already been studying so I should do OK. Everything's coming together! (*Cue major disaster* right? Since I mentioned all is well...)

Off to get a little breakfast in my belly. My eating was atrocious yesterday - good breakfast, then NOTHING until dinner time (shipping took longer than I thought) and then white pasta with veggies and bread for dinner (no other options and I was famished). Oh well. Back on the wagon today. Gotta fit in that bathing suit tomorrow!

Ten posts in less than 20 minutes! Lots of clucking going on today. I sure hope everyone has their options set to see more than 20 posts per page.

I'm mixing up a batch of dog food for Her Majesty. At pet therapy yesterday, someone asked if she was pregnant. It's a good thing dogs don't get embarrassed! We needs to weigh at the vet this week and see what we can do about getting her girlish figure back.

Have a good morning.

Ruth, I have a new (quick) recipe for dog food I came up with. I boil a container of chicken livers (yuk!!!!!) in water, then add a bag of frozen peas, then a bag of frozen carrots, then when that's all cooked, I add a box of brown minute rice and turn it off and let it sit for a bit. disgusting...but the dogs love it and I don't have to pick bones out of it. I've used chicken hearts too..equally gross, but I like the liver better cause I can chop it up in little chunks to distribute it more evenly. All 3 dogs love it. ick. And it seems to be helping with Stitch's allergies. Dog jambalaya!

Good morning chicks, I got up early too, well, early for me...
The cats decided everyone needed to be up this morning, so they made sure to wake all of us. It looks like it will be a beautiful day today. I was sooo on plan yesterday and got in my walk and a 4 mile WATP. I am really really hoping to see a little movement on the scale on Saturday. I don't usually let myself get too hung up on it, but sometimes, I just want to see something. I realized yesterday that I've lost 13 lbs in the last 4 months. That just doesn't seem like much... I want more! At that rate, it'll take me another year to lose the last 40. I know, patience, sigh...

Ruth
- sounds like a contemplative day of anniversaries for you. I look forward to retirement, but I figure I've got to work for another 20 years or so. I've got to finish putting DD through school, and then two more to follow. Hope Donna shows up for you. Poor Hershey, give her ear a scratch for me. Tell her we've got a towel for her on the beach.
cottage - Hooray on three days cottage! Have fun with your girlies today.
LoriAnn - glad you got your floor in. I desperately need a new kitchen floor, but I am making myself wait until we remodel the summer kitchen, so I can run it all the way through. Good luck with your job hunt!
Cat - Hope they've got that job for you. Happy promise day, what a special day to remember. You know Dad is proud and we're so proud of you too! Did you post in the "made goal" section? Maybe we need to start one of our own here on the beach... Hopefully I will join you there one day.
Kara - Have a great trip! And try and find some time for the beach! Destin does have nice beaches - I was there for a week last year, and took a walk on the beach every day after meetings. Very relaxing.

Good morning all,
Just wanted to check in and see how all were doing. I got up early and got my walk in and the lawn and flowers watered.

What is WATP? Is it a treadmill dvd or something I could do without one? No equipment here. Sneakers and a bottle of water is what I got.

Got to go shower. Then get the kids up and to school. Everyone have a great day and a safe one.
