You have found a wonderful place for support. The best advice I can give is don't give up. I've found weight loss to be a little of trial and a whole lot of error.
I've picked myself up many times and I think I may have finally found something that works for me. I'm a planner. I plan my meals out a week at a time and write in my exercise schedule. Occassionally I'll enter my calories into fitday just to see where I'm at but for now I don't wanna count calories full time.
