I'm 5'2" and I aim for 1200 per day - if I go over I tend to maintain. I've actually been finding it tough to hit 1200, but I know I shouldn't go under, 'cause I stop losing then, too, so I just eat a few more snacks. I know there are guidelines, but I think it's hit and miss for everyone, and you just have to find the calorie amount that's right for you.
