Starting Weight: 260
Present Weight: 245
Goal Weight: 145 for sure, maybe lower when I get there
Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Making sure you're doing it for the right reasons. Health being one of them, to feel better being another. It should never be about vanity.... don't get me wrong, I want to look good, but more importantly I want to be healthy.

Anything else you would like to share with us: I think that this website has really been helpful. It's much easier to relate to people that understand what you're going through. And then you can be more supportive to those people.

First name (if you want to tell): Earlymornings
Geographical location: California
Age: 20
Marital Status: single
Children/Ages: none
Occupation: full-time college student
Pets: beagle (ferris), turtle (poop (that's really his name))
Hobbies/Interests: reading, writing, running, watching movies, baking (my weakness)
Height: 5'4"
Eye/Hair Color: brown, brown/black
Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: Mid-may of this year
Starting Weight: 159 lbs.
Present Weight: 151 lbs.
Goal Weight: 125-130 lbs.
Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: At the beginning of high school, I quit a sport i was quite competitive in as a child, and gained 30+ pounds over the next 2 years. My metabolism was all out of whack since then, because I kept eating as much as i had been before, not exercising enough, and I stopped growing. Since then, i've never been able to shed the extra pounds.
Following any specific plan: Cut most sweets and candy, more vegetables, exercise almost every day (running, weights, classes, etc)
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: No more crash dieting, no more unhealthy choices. When i was younger i struggled with an eating disorder because of pressure from coaches, etc., and ever since then, I've had a lot of image problems.
Anything else you would like to share with us: I would like to just be able to meet some people to keep me on track who are in a similar situation. Also, I love hearing your stories and seeing your progress. it is amazing..

Age: 23
Marital Status: married for 1 year
Children/Ages: none
Occupation: customer service rep
Pets: Chester, cutest spaniel mix-thing in the world!

Starting Weight: 195
Present Weight: 195
Goal Weight: Ultimately 135, but I would be extremely happy with 165 by March
Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: I just love food and cooking and baking, especially baking! Plus my husband is skinny as a stick and can eat whatever he wants, especially cookies! Exercising also a big concern!
Following any specific plan: not right now
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I am going to Thailand for a two-week tsunami relief mission trip in March, and it is going to be SO much physical labor. I am horrified that I won't be able to fulfill my duties. I have also reached the ends of "normal" sizes and want to be able to wear nice clothes from nice places! Plus-sized clothes never fit me on top because I am so short waisted, so I am screwed!

Geographical location: Michigan
Age: 28
Marital Status: Married

Occupation: Mom, and I train dogs on the side. I also watch two children
Pets: One german shepherd female named Greta. She is a search and rescue dog.
Hobbies/Interests: Reading, shopping, ebay, Search and rescue, anything child related
Height: 5'6 1/2"
Eye/Hair Color: Brown/brown
Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: April
Starting Weight: 268
Present Weight: 239
Goal Weight: 130-140
I have a huge problem with the phrase I will start again tomorrow. Tomorow is always going to be my start day, so I eat really bad caus eit will be the last time, and then when tomorrow comes I will not eat till the afternoon. By then my cravings kick in, and I splurge on fast food. I am a fast food jumkie.
Following any specific plan: Right now I am working wiht a weight loss medical group. I am doing what is called a lion lifestyle. sort of like a mediteranian style of eating. The theory is that these people are the healthiest on the planet.
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I have a plan of action. I have all the tools I need to eat right. Before I never knew what healthy living was, so I would just eat a bit of this, and pretty soon my portions would grow and grow.
I lost 42lbs, got down to 226, and then I got pg. So I began eating more, and then I had a m/c, and I have yet been able to get back on track. I hope tomorrow will be the day.

First name (if you want to tell): Brina
Geographical location: Canada, eh
Age: 21 (22 in five days)
Marital Status: Live in BF
Children/Ages: none
Occupation: Logisitics Manager
Pets: two ferrets, and my dad has a Bull Mastiff who I consider mine.
Hobbies/Interests: knitting, reading, working, various other stationary activities, and my personal favourite, computering.
Height: 4'11"
Eye/Hair Color: brown/brown
Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: Debateable! I started trying to lose weight, like most people, at the start of highschool (when I was.. get this.. 74lbs, and thought I was *huge*). Finally around Grade 11, I accepted that I was quite thin, and gave up my starvation/one carrot diet. Since then, I've gained, and gained, and gained, and gained! I've reached the point where I have to put a stop to the gaining, and maybe level off at a (truly) healthy weight.
Starting Weight: 163
Present Weight: 144
Goal Weight: Ideally, I would like to be anywhere in the "Healthy Weight Range" on the chart for my height (100 - 115). Doctors say in order to qualify for breast reduction surgery, i need to lose at least 30 more pounds.
Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: I love food! I love to eat, I love to cook, and I love to talk about food. I'm also extraordinarily lazy! (Not a good combination).
Another one of the huge hurdles, that I try to ignore - my dad has this horrible habit of (first) telling me I've gained so much weight, I'm unattractive, and my BF is going to leave me if I don't "get on it". I _am_ trying, and I keep trying to tell him, I didn't gain weight overnight, and i'm not going to lose it overnight. Once he's finished telling me what a fatty I am, he goes on to offer me pizza, cheesecake, ice cream samwiches, and pop. /rolly eyes.
Another hurdle that I'm trying to work with, is the BF is allergic to veggies. Yes, literally. Not an easy way to cook, i tell you!
Following any specific plan: Yes, I'm beta-testing the Hormonology Diet by Gabrielle Lichterman (details here : http://www.livejournal.com/users/28d...ook/43069.html)
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: Well, for one, i'm trying to eat healthy, and not "not at all" which i think was likely a HUGE problem in the past I'm trying to build a support network (by joining here, for one!) and my bf is really supportive as well. I'm trying to do this _for me_ rather than for anyone else, like I did in the past. I have a positive outlook, and I'm trying to keep it that way!
Anything else you would like to share with us: um.. Yes.
