Dottington, I know we'll figure it out eventually! It sounds like you have a very supportive boyfriend. I can never step away from the scale, I must weigh myself daily. If I don't check every morning I put on weight.
Amandie, welcome. Congratulations on all of your success so far!
Marniadec, I am hypothyroid and I think my meds need to be adjusted. I am getting my blood work done next week and I have an appointment with a new endocrinologist at the end of the month. I'm really exhausted and my hairdresser says she can feel it in my hair again too.

I understand the feelings re: the scale and how sometimes it distorts or skews our views on ourselves. There's been so many times I wanted to throw the scale out but I just cannot do it.
I hope you get to feeling better, Dottington! I agree with Soon2BSlender- you all will figure it out eventually.
Thanks for the welcome, Marni and Soon2BSlender!
Marni- I use tickerfactory for my siggy tickers but here is 3FC's ticker link. I hope that helps somewhat.
Soon2BSlender- I'd agree that your meds need to be adjusted if you're not feeling "right" especially with all what you do and scale still not budging?
I was on (and off) WW since 2011 but in the last year or so, I've been sort of IE but within WW guidelines if that makes sense? Now I've moved completely away from WW and am focused on very mindful IE, no calorie counting... At least not yet, more likely whenever the scale stops going down.
I finally started back up on working out- 30 minutes on the elliptical on the hardest setting. I keep debating with myself if I should also start up 30DS. I hate the temporary gain that comes with starting 30DS, though, LOL. Maybe after I reach goal.
A bit busy this weekend- I've a St. Patrick poker party tomorrow with 50+ people and I'm making a boob cake (for the first time, so a bit nervous!) for my brother's 40th for tomorrow's party. He's gonna be so stoked since it is a surprise (well, at least I hope no one said anything and that it still is a surprise!) I'll post pictures of it when I can. I'm definitely bumping up the exercise today, tomorrow and Sunday to offset the surplus since I know I will be drinking tomorrow.
Have a great weekend, all!

Amandie, thank you so much! I kept clicking on signatures but they led me nowhere.
Guys, I'm going to mention this here, too: When I first started losing weight, I was too embarrassed to be seen exercising. Well, I still do it because now I can't afford shoes and my feet are too sensitive... I don't walk fast enough to consider it exercising, I just walk like I always do. But today I realized that it normally takes me 10 minutes to walk a mile. If I walk that fast inside the house, I burn about double the calories I thought I did and I'm undereating by like 600 calories. But can I really say that I walk that fast inside the house? I do get pretty good results with my weight loss and I've always wondered why I don't find it as hard to lose weight as other people who have thyroid issues do and why I always get worn out and stop dieting after a while. Can it be because I'm eating too little?

Amandie- to a new decade! I did IE over the summer, I think its awesome and hope to switch to it completely in maintenance Sounds like you have a fun weekend ahead of you! haha that cake sounds awesome!
Soon2BSlender-I hope everything with your meds gets worked out soon
Marniadec-hmm if you are walking that fast and undereating that could very well be why you get burnt out. I would say experiment by upping your calories a little bit each week and monitor what happens. I think its always better to eat a little bit more so that you can maintain a deficit long term without getting burned out.
144 today I'm thinking about starting some strength training this week. I feel like cardio isn't cutting it anymore maybe? Idk lately I've been getting really dizzy and light headed, also I get instances of vertigo. I feel like I eat enough, and the scale obviously isn't moving so apparently I eat too much so idk what's going on….

amandie, what is IE if you don't mind me asking? I tried 30DS when I first started but I was also trying C25K at the time and my knees couldn't take either. =/ Now I'm waiting to try it once I go into maintenance because I really liked it. I'm sure your brother will love the cake and I'd like to see the picture! Have fun!
Dottington I keep using words and then realizing that I'm not sure they mean what I think they mean. Did I use burned out correctly? Slowly upping calories sounds better than going from 1000 to 1600 at once because I'm honestly afraid to eat more. ST won't really help you lose weight, you don't burn lots of calories doing it. But to me it's more important than cardio because it helps you lose inches and you'll look better in the end. You do measure everything, right? Are you sure that you're tracking your exercise and food correnctly?
I was starving yesterday. I'm coming off a two-week period where I ate almost nothing because I was sick. And I'm also PMSing which always makes me hungry a lot. I ate almost at maintenance but I lost 1.5 lb today, so it' all good! Could it be a sign that I do need to eat more? I also walked for three hours today. I just called everyone I knew and ranted about my apartment and then I walked off some of my anger over some stuff related to my apartment...

Marnia-Yes I do measure everything, and I severely underestimate the calories I burn from exercise. I thought about doing strength training again since I'm trying to tweak where ever I can to try and move this weight loss along. I really need to just drop my calories but its really hard. Congrats on the loss
Hey so thought I'd finally include some pics from my trip to Catalina Two are with me and my friend who I visited. And one is me in an old bikini(I never did find a new swimsuit I could stand)
I measured yesterday and it looks like I've lost 1/2 and inch of my hips so I guess I am shrinking even if weight is stalled.
Lately I've been having headaches, vertigo, dizzy spells, and general lightheadedness. Back in August all these symptoms started but were minor and not very often. But now its getting worse and worse I'm waiting for my new insurance card to come then I'm going to head to the doctor and get checked out.
Hope you all have an awesome weekend!

Dottington, you look amazing! I really hope you get your health figured out. Have you seen a doctor about your symptoms?
I'm weighing in at 143 today. It seems my range is now 143-145. I really want the scale to drop into the 130s.

Soon2BSlender-thanks! I'm waiting for my new insurance card to come and then I'm going to see a doctor about it. In the meantime I'm documenting my symptoms in a journal. I want to drop into the 130s so badly too!
This weekend I was really stressed and anxious. I did get in a good amount of exercise, but my eating was all off. It was really weird bc I normally don't get so"bingey". i'm not worrying about it too much and am just moving on. I'm staring phase 4 of the goals challenge which is hike 1x a week and strength train 1x a week. I'd been doing the hiking twice per week but by adding in strength training I really don't have the time. Once May comes though I will have so much more time and will make my goal to exercise more each week. Ugh can't wait for summer and all the awesome exercise its going to bring!
For nutrition in phase 4 I'm not cheating M-F! I will get these stupid calories under control!

Yikes, Dot- that has to be scary. for your insurance card to come ASAP! You look awesome and I love the color of your 2 piece!
Maria- IE is intuitive eating, I basically eat whenever I'm hungry and stop when the hunger is satiated. My eating habits differ from day to day due to school. I normally don't eat breakfast but have started to on Tues/Thurs due to early classes and on test days as well so my hunger does not distract me. It isn't much different from what I eat on WW, just no tracking and I'm more mindful too. I try to eat mostly vegetarian throughout the day except for evenings when I cook and eat with the family so I think that helps keep the calories down a bit.
I've yet to start on 30DS, still can't find the DVD. I'm a bit scared to start since I hurt my knees doing insanity. I will definitely do a lot of modifications if/when I start when it comes to the knees. Half an hour on the elliptical a couple times a week is good enough for now.
I am with Dottington on experimenting and upping calories little by little to figure out what is right for you.
TOM started on Saturday so I'm avoiding the scale until Friday or Saturday.
As promised, here is the picture of the cake! Warning- may be NSFW. I wouldn't wanna get anyone in trouble, lol. The party turned out great, no drama or anything and everyone had fun.
Soon2b- 143, nice. Sending you some willpower dust and good vibes for you to get down to 142 or below! It must be frustrating to do everything right and still not see anything. Hang in there. It's gotta come off sometime!

Ahhhh back to 145 today! I'm beyond annoyed! The scale just yo-yos between those two darn numbers. I track and track. I eat a healthy diet. When I diet with someone and I eat literally half of what they eat, I gain and they lose. I've journaled, I've had several doctors review my calories and I should be losing weight. I can't wait to see the new endocrinologist...

Amandie-Thanks That cake is freakin amazing! haha Do you make cakes for a living at all? You're very talented! How did they like it?
Soon2BSlender- I'm sorry, that is so rough. I really hope the endo will have some answers for you. When is your appointment? Don't give up! You will get this figured out!
Weight is up a little from the slightly bingey weekend. Today has been the longest day ever. Do you guys ever have those days where you forget its the same day? Like its so long and you're like "Yeah its tuesday now, right?" haha this is going to be an awful week. I was at school at 8 for a rehearsal, then practice, then lunch break, then accompanied for a performance, then rehearsal with the orchestra for Carnival of the Animals(ugh hate that piece). Last night I was rehearsing with the other pianist till 10. We still have a lot to do on it, but its better at least. blah over life right now.
Calories and eating are fine today. I probably won't get to work out till Friday(lame). Oh, something exciting happened yesterday…me and my boyfriend went and started looking at rings! Got my ring size(6) and tried some on. I really love blue diamonds so I'd really like a ring with those. This weekend I'm going to LA and we're going to look in the jewelry district. It all feels odd and kind of surreal haha
Ugh now to write a paper T_T
Hope everyone's having a good start to their week!

Dottington- Thanks! No, I do not bake for a living although I've thought about it a couple times, heh. I love to bake but I hate the cleanup afterwards. I'm still finding a little bit of frosting on the walls, lol.
Back to school since yesterday and all is well. I was a bit worried that the spring break would throw me out of whack or something but nope, whew!
I just made polenta for the first time and put it in a vegetable casserole. It was also the first time I've had polenta. The flavor is good but next time, I'd halve the polenta and maybe adjust broth/cornmeal ratio so it is more of a crust then double the veggies. I used green peppers and mushrooms in place of the yellow squash since I only had zucchini on hand. Yum! I'm off to do a paper for interpersonal communication, ugh.
Have a good evening, all!

Hotaruchan-Welcome back!
Amandie-Frosting on the walls?! Lol I LOVE polenta, I like using it in casseroles too. That casserole sounds really yummy I like to make this mexican style one using black beans, tomato, black olives, enchilada sauce, jalapeños, and some vegan cheese.
Was up early for a rehearsal today(8AM rehearsals should not be allowed imo ) I'm so over school…ugh only 4 weeks left thankfully. Its been such a stressful year. I'm a little burned out from practicing and playing. I like to take time off from practicing for a week every few months and usually that's what I do after big performances, but this semester I haven't had a chance.
I've decided to force myself to have no more cheats this month. I'm really buckling down because I realize summer is coming and its either maintain this weight or suck it up and lose it and I'm determined to lost it. I really want to be in the 30s by summer. I'm going to weigh myself on the 1st of April and then have my boyfriend take my scale away for the month. I still need to buy a new swimsuit and I think that will be my reward at the end of April.
What are your guys goals for summer? Any swimsuits you're eyeing? Trips planned?
