Anyone want to be Fitbit buddies?
Hello all! I just got my first fitbit today and I'm hoping there are a few users on here since I don't know anyone IRL that uses one. My user ID is 2496X5
Only had it one day but so far I'm really enjoying it. I made sure I did a walk at the end of my run just so I could get up to the 10,000 - I couldn't let my first day be under goal despite only activating it at 1.30pm.

Would you guys recommend a fitbit?
I'm tossing up between buying a heart rate monitor (for when I exercise) or a fitbit, so I'm curious as to what your experiences have been.
Any kind of feedback is much appreciated!

meeel I have had mine for a couple months and love it, I think it helps push me to move more. It lets me know how many steps I have taken and sometimes I will get on the treadmill just to get a few more in or maybe go up and down the stairs a few times. I love it.

30k in one day?? You might have lost an inch in your height wearing your feet off!!
I only heard of a fitbit last week and now it seems the chat is everywhere.
What do they do different for you than acting like a pedometer? If it helps with my weightloss, I want one!

Yes I did, and I have a 10 month old so it was extremely hard. I went to the gym that morning, walked all lunch break , went back to the gym after work and stepped in place at home for about 30mins. But shoot , i have Fitbit friends who do 50k in one day and some arent runners
elvislover- it monitors calories burned, based on your weight, height, age, floors( elevation), miles traveled, its also a sleep tracker so you measure the quality of your sleep. The sleep tracker is a neat tool as I could see how mcuh I was actually awakened by my son at night. He is getting older now so, my sleep activity quality better Fitbit send you a weekly progress report of how active you were in the past week. It syncs to Lose It, and MFP so that it can monitor you calories in vs out. Lost of neat stuff. It also sycns to Iphone 4s and 5, 5s.

Thank you for the info! And wow, that means you walked 15 miles that day! I'm very impressed, you must not have sat down for 1 minute!
I am going to check out Fitbit and the cost, etc. So excited, sounds awesome!
